I also really like the metaphor of the yellow line: a threshold, and a point of departure. A transitory place, where time is measured in moments. A great image for a melancholy mood, but there is also hope in departing and finding someplace new. German has the wonderful term "Aufbruchstimmung" for this. Really fitting for a debut.
