60 MILE/100KM WALK - DID I COMPLETE IT? - HOLLY'S SUFFOLK COAST CHALLENGE
I took on 100km/60 miles along the entire Suffolk Coast for Dementia UK in memory of my dad Pete who passed late last year.
Unfortunately I fell short by 10 miles for reasons explained in the video, but we raised an amazing £2701 for Dementia UK which is absolutely amazing and what it's all about really!

GET COMFORTABLE BEING UNCOMFORTABLE. I hate getting into cold water so I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and went for a dip in the 7 degree North Sea. In March. My friend Ren and I headed up to Horsey in Norfolk for a coastal walk to see the herds of seals on the beach. I'm pretty much still a novice so finding my way through navigating and scrambling for the first time! Was thoroughly enjoyable though! High Cup Nick is in the North Pennines and is most easily accessed from Dufton, Cumbria. Just a correction - I found out after that you don't need to scan your barcode until you finish, only at the end! My official time was 31.37 but I'd say my Runkeeper app was more accurate as I was speaking to one of the volunteer staff for a little while after the start time! Will get there earlier next time! Holly you did unbelievable...50 miles is amazing. I did the Alzheimers walk same time as you in peak district of half that distance and know how that felt. So to do double that is amazing...your dad would be very proud of you...well done 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
So sorry to hear of the loss of your lovely dad Holly. It was clear from your previous videos how much he meant to you. I lost my mum last year. It's good to see you back though and channeling your energy into doing something positive. I've done a few long distance events so really looking forward to you sharing your journey. Take care.

If only 2020 was exactly the same as 2019! I'll have to give this place a go, I normally just stick to the lake district but it gets so busy this might be worth a look. Great video.

I done this walk for the second time yesterday (28/8/21).. It's worth it every time I go.. The fresh water springs are a bonus 👍
Doing this tomorrow looks good, makes a change for me usually stay in Lake District 👍

Done this three times. Camped at High Cup Nick about 12 years ago and since then I’ve done two walks around it. It’s a lovely place with breath taking views.
Thats brilliant, respect to you for going for it. Shame the events were cancelled, hopefully both on this year. Keep pushing.

@@hollyschallenges Just came across your video as I've been researching the High Cup Nick walk. The swearing made me laugh. "I was looking for the path, there is no f*cking path" 😂 That sums it up. My route will be around the edge I think. I won't be heading down the valley. Great video, thanks for posting.

Big appreciation and respect to even apply and attempt the SAS training programme because it’s testing beyond your mental and fitness. However are you attempting this just because it’s for entertainment and to try out a new challenge ? Because the SAS programme is no joke, you are undergoing the programme to see whether you are strong will enough and will be doing the duty of serving for your country. A lot of people has died during the SAS selection progress and a lot of people have died serving the country It would be a dishonourable thing to attempt this programme without a proper mentality and reason why your doing it , just curious but would like to know your reasons in attempting this programme.
Hiya, thanks for watching! The thing I’ve applied for is actually a tv show which puts people through a condensed version of sas selection, so it’s not the full course at all! I’m unlikely to actually get on the show but we will see. ☺️

@@hollyschallenges How long is it taking you? I contacted them and they said to get the vidoes over before the summer so I'm assuming they mean June. My best effort so far is 1.49 in 10:00. I might just have to send my best effort and hope for the best.

I'm going through this with my mother, the period where she was really aware of what was happening to her was very hard. Her mother and father both died of it, so she was aware of exactly what it means. Thankfully she's past the awareness stage and much like you father is here. If it is indeed genetic, I'm in line for it. Hope I get struck by lightning 1st. I hope you and your father are doing well. Subbed

Thanks, sorry about the swearing!!! It's just over 4 miles to the actual nick, think it took me hour, hour and a half? Stopping to film bits etc. I filmed some on my GoPro Hero 4 and some on my iPhone 8 so not a very expensive set up haha! Thanks for watching :)
