I happened by luck to be joined at lunch with Roy Lopresti an a couple of companions. He was a true gentleman, humble, interested in others, and interesting to talk to. Its a shame his accidental death took him "west" before he could finish this project.

In the 70's I owned a swift (7BL) with a 200 HP lyc and Carbon cowling ( if I remember right) Painted it with red and white invasions stripes. I flew in the K-Dam swift flyin air shows in the 70's and other flyins in the 70's. After owning an A36 and Piper Cheyenne the swift is my favorite plane. A friend had a emergency back home and I had to leave early, I lest a movie of my aerobatics for everyone to watch the next night if any one knows of it I would really like to have it back. Probably 40 years ago. I think I gave it to Charley but he is probably not with us any more.

Very beautiful aircraft. A modernized Swift work of art. The Military needs to research a modern version of the T-35 Buckaroo. Pilots would be fighting over the chance to fly it. I know I would.

Beautiful helicopter in intro, Mooney is gorgeous...

Great vid. I grew up as pilot during this era and was so hopeful for this plane. Mooney always sucked in financial department but Lo presti did/affected things you still see today re cowling and wing drag. It was a tough era to be in the small plane business. It would have destroyed the Pipers.

Roy got hooked after he won the Cafe 400 race on his taped-up Mooney.
