Yeah? Modern industry is only one of the products of classical and traditional education. Today's civilization did not come from the new "educational" system and is certainly not the product of social dogmas like "multiple intelligences", "emotional intelligence", "transgenderism", "feminism", etc. I can almost imagine a self-taught civil engineer trying to make a bridge, a building or a dam stand, out of pure creativity and having "discovered how to do it on his own" ha ha ha ha... That'll be the day.

I think traditional schooling makes children think more than modern schooling.

It is beautiful BUT we live in a world where good test scores are required to get into good universities. I wish these schools would give us a 100% breakdown of what the state standardized test scores in math reading and writing at the very least are. Most children will not naturally want to go through a geometry or algebra book but these skills are required for standardized tests. There is still something to be said for pushing a child to study new things and achieve higher than he or she thought. This schooling seems a bit too relaxed with very minimal academic standards.

Actually they have a 100% admittance rate for all of their students that apply to higher learning institutions.

"Most children will not naturally want to go through a geometry or algebra book" Eh, not really. Math is, to say the least, a very interesting subject. The only reason why many students hate math is because schools encourage a learning environment wherein students either keep up with the teachings and/or others, or they get left behind by the licensed teachers permanently. Unless schools address these problems (e.g. aim to better the effectiveness of remediation classes further), unmotivated and suicidal students will remain increasing.

Dr. Gray's presentation at Alpine Valley School was excellent. I did attend this presentation. Anyone with school age children owe it to themselves and particularly to their children to explore why a Sudbury education is the greatest gift that could be given to the children. Possibly the greatest hurdle for adults to get over is one of trust, TRUSTING that their children will acquire what skills they need to become happy and healthy productive adults in society. I have met a number of graduates from Sudbury schools over the past 25 years and can attest to their impressive characters. Schools, all schools including most alternative schools, truly are PRISONS, in that the child is not free or respected as an individual; free to choose how to spend their time, free to participate in making the rules, or free to explore what they are interested in. The current schooling, worldwide, is based on FEAR and MANIPULATION. Even the faculty must maneuver their days through countless restrictive limitations. Go check out the multitude of written articles at: www.sudval.org. Sudbury Valley School is the FIRST Sudbury school, founded in 1968 and is still functioning full force. Get educated about this model and then get busy founding these schools worldwide. We now have a true solution to the current crises in education.
