So nice
How did u make the shape step one
Woah! It's that easy?! I would have thought this theme looks more difficult that the others. I'm happy surprised this seems so simple.
This is great and informative. More step by step videos would be appreciated
Thank you, glad you liked it! We have plans for more tutorials in the future. Do you have anything specific in mind for a Theme and/or terrain piece that you would like to see a tutorial for?
Do you think brown filament would work just as well as black filament?
It depends on the shade of brown. If it's very dark, then it should be fine. But a medium or light brown runs the risk of visible spots that are missed when basecoating or where the paint doesn't cover well enough. I would recommend sticking with black filament for this reason, not to mention that using black eliminates the guesswork of whether or not a particular shade of brown will be dark enough.
How many different trees are there?
Currently, we have three different types of trees: Playable Deciduous Trees, Withered Trees, and Deciduous Trees (the ones featured in this video). There are a total of 12 different Deciduous Trees in this set: 6 single trees, 2 double copses, and 3 triple copses. You can see the entire set with this link: www.terrainify.com/product-page/deciduous-trees-deluxe-bundle-stl

Great tutorial as usual!
Thank you!
Great video, clear instructions and a nice terrain theme. I'm keen to start painting up my Terrainify models in different styles to suit my battle mats XD
Thanks! We'd love to see photos of your terrain once it's painted!
Nice and simple instructions for a great result!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
I’m going to try this method out on my warcry terrain.
Awesome! Please share some photos on our Facebook page when you're finished painting them!
Very nice. But no primer base on a 3D printed file sorta blows my mind. 😉
Which SuperTurf foliage was it? The medium green?
"Moss Green" SuperTurf
Nice tutorial. Just curious, why no primer? Or matte sealant?
I feel like the word dominion has Latin roots. Just thinking about the words i've sung through choir in Latin there are lots of "dom" words. Don't know for sure without Google.
Yeah, a lot of the names of the Stormcast Eternals have Latin roots (not just the new boxed set, but previous releases as well). It's not just Age of Sigmar either, there's a fair amount of Latin terms and influence in 40k too.
So...half of the game is building...
You raise a good point. The "game" is technically a combination of two hobbies: playing the game, and building/painting the models. (You could technically argue that there's a third hobby as well, given the amount of IP that Games Workshop has created, but that's a bit out of the scope of this discussion). Some people enjoy both aspects of hobby, but many folks tend to gravitate towards one or the other.
Would be cool for a Barsoom board.
Barsoom -- that's a pulp fiction Mars setting, right? I'm not familiar with it, but I've heard of it before. Yeah, we were definitely going for something that would be suitable for a Mars-type setting for 40k and other sci-fi, or just a cool desert-type of environment with red rocks for whatever game they're used with :-)
@@terrainify9389 Yeah its a series of books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, I think they're in the public domain now. I may get into the miniature game. I have some of your terrain already. I usually prefer to make my own stuff, but you guys sell nice stuff and its affordable, I will certainly get more.
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship fo the Ring :)
You got it!!!
I would love to see Red Rock and other desert painting tutorials
Awesome, Mark, thanks so much for your feedback! Sorry for the late reply, we are just getting used to making videos again! Here's a link to a tutorial for our "Sandstone" theme, which is pretty desert-y: th-cam.com/video/AtMxMxV10Fo/w-d-xo.html
Right. No eating off the rocks... probably. I mean... if I drop a pepperoni slice onto the table...?
Campaign Terrain, you've found the exception that proves the rule. We can all agree to never waste pepperoni, right??
Unfortunately, neither of the print links work.
Hi Aric, sorry about that, thanks for letting me know! I've updated and tested the links and they appear to be working now. Here is a coupon for 10% off in the Etsy shop: ARICL10THANKYOU
@@terrainify9389 Thanks! I'll be sure to place an order and give your stuff a try (looks great). I'm curious whether there is a smaller version of the "ramp spiral" (the only option is a $99 version that is 12.5 x 11.5 x 3) and I was hoping for one closer to 9x8x2 and thought I saw one on another page but can't find it now.
@@aricliljegren890 I only have the one size available "off the shelf," but I can do a custom order and scale it to the dimensions you would like. Hit me up on Etsy whenever you're ready to get started. Thanks!
What was the name of the paint you use for the wash at the end ?
What specific folk art color did you use in this video put of curiosity?
Fully flat hills? Nothing that cannot be fixed with the easiest amount of sands and glue. Exept now you get to choose what goes on top. These are wonderful.
Thanks, Fernando! Yes, they're super-easy to add texture and other items too. Here's another version than what's shown in this video: www.terrainify.com/gallery?lightbox=dataItem-jnkuwqz52
I really liked this theme. It is a nice change from the standard dark grey ruins.
Thanks, Isabelle!
Great video that's easy to follow. Great job!
Thank you!
just a heads up the stl file link has an error.could just be my end.cool vid and hope your keepng safe.love from scotland
Thanks for the heads-up, Peter! I should have double-checked it. I'm surprised the link didn't work, since it was a simple copy-paste. I fixed it above and it worked just now when I tested it, but here it is again: www.terrainify.com/product-page/ancient-ruins-starter-set-10-pieces

Thanks! Glad you like them. :-)
Man, I love your work! Can't wait to see more from you :)
Thanks, TyNeu! I'm planning on making more videos, it's often tricky to find the time to do them. I do post a fair amount of photos on Facebook and Instagram, so that's one way to see more of my stuff. :-)
What flocking do you use here? Also, when you cover it with watered down pva glue at the end do you use a brush, or spray bottle (if its thin enough)?
Awesome! Are you brushing the sealer on or using another method?
I'm guessing a spray bottle just because using a brush would possibly cause some of the texturing to fall off.
Thank you! For heavy materials such as super turf, I go with a 1:1 mix of water and white glue. For light stuff such as flock, I thin it down to approximately 3:1 to 4:1. I use an empty glue bottle to mix the sealer, and squeeze it out over the piece directly from the bottle.
Thanks for the A to Z tutorial, I really enjoy it!
Thanks, Verigil! I plan on making more tutorials for various terrain pieces, so please hit the subscribe button if you want to keep up with what I'm doing. :-)
looks great dude, well done!
Thanks so much!
This is great, I stumbled across your model on Thingiverse while looking for terrain to use in Frostgrave and Age of Sigmar. Definitely will be picking up your ruins from your website. If you're looking for ideas of what STLs to make have a look at Frostgrave and Rangers of Shadow Deep - these things are largely generic fantasy applicable so apply to AoS, Saga, etc. as well. There is a fair amount of competition in the completed building territory but there's not a whole lot of printable scatter terrain out there, and both of your ruins fit the bill nicely.
Dude. That looks great! Can't wait to start making these for us to use at home!
Awesome, Dante!
Printer? :)
I currently use the Prusa I3 Mk3 almost exclusively.
Layer height apparently goes to 50 microns... do you ever use it that low? I am wanting to print minatures that look super professional after painting. I know sanding/ (and certain PLA can be polished with acetone) but am wanting to know if 50 microns can create that seamless, no layer line look.
@@WeBuild4Life I haven't actually tried going down that low. I try to find a balance between print quality and print time. I find that .25 to .2 mm usually works well enough for me.
Thank you! I am considering the Monoprice Ultimate, as there's an open box for only $350 which is a crazy good deal, and that one can go down to .02mm, which is obviously too small for most things. What filament do you like to use?
I think if you do this against a black background it will be so much easier on the eyes.
What software do you use for sculpting those rocks?
This was done mostly with Zbrush, but I use a variety of other programs as well depending on what needs to be done (Sculptris, Netfabb, 3D Builder...).
It's very nice work!
