How long does it usually take you to find them and do you think the upper, middle or lower lake is best?
@@JacksonNelson-m2c I fish upper lake mainly because it’s close to home. The perch are flat feeders, just find deep flats 18-28’ and you will improve your odds of finding. If bait is present or birds are diving always stop and give it a try.
Looks like a little hardaway
@@BoyceGoodson-y3w yes sir!!💪
Any tips on which creeks they are in in the winter? Tried SC Little River today and got into some hybrids but could not find the perch
@@JacksonNelson-m2c I always look for big flats at mouth of major creeks when water temp dips below 55. Always look for diving birds also they will give bait and fish locations away in winter.
Will do next time thank you for the info
We call them white bass in Ohio. Do you eat them ty
@@rickyrishel8198 yes, one of the best eating fish in my opinion. We catch white bass sometimes usually in spring
Good catch hammer!
@@CH-xo8ss Thank you sir!!🎣💪
What state is this ty
@@rickyrishel8198 SC 🎣💪🏼Clarks hill lake
That's ridiculous. 2 weekends ago we were at the dam and tried everything but caught nothing. No action on the water at all.
Man, I know that was fun! Thanks for sharing!
@@CH-xo8ss Prime time right now!! It’s been outstanding for about 2 weeks
Great video as always bud!
Is this the afternoon again? My friend and I are thinking of going to the dam GA side this Saturday.
@@shindukess yes
@@TRNoutdoors Forgot to ask if they were generating while you were out there? Schedule says 3PM-7PM 8/24/2024 for generating and 10PM-5AM for pumping. I just want to have a productive trip and get there at the best time.
@@shindukess yes
@@TRNoutdoors we went yesterday afternoon into the evening. No one caught anything along the GA side banks by the dam. Guess we just need a boat or wait for the spawn. Kinda disappointing.
@@shindukess Maybe change tactics. 🎣
we always end up catching a lot of Spots while crappie fishing at Russell. you caught some nice bass. thanks for the video man 👍
@@351cleveland8 Thanks!! Russell dam is Awesome this time of year.
@@TRNoutdoors do you ever hit Greenwood or Murray?
@@351cleveland8 No, Clark hill and lake Russell are in my backyard. I don’t have to go to far to fish.
@@TRNoutdoors gotcha 👍
watching now 👍
just finding your channel. you doing it to 'em, thanks for the video man 👍
@@351cleveland8 Thanks!!🎣💪
Are any of them near the dam or the jetty? I don't have a boat to reach where you are.
I've never caught a striper or hybrid but they are usually where bait are
@@shindukess yes definitely. There are fishing areas on Ga side and SC side at dam with walking access along shoreline. Some of the best fishing of the year is August- September when the generators are running in afternoons. Good luck 🎣💪
@@TRNoutdoors thank you. Any particular bait or depth? Live bait, lures, top, mid, bottom?
@@shindukess live bait (herring ) is best by far but I don’t use. We target mainly feeding fish on top when generators are running. Flukes, bucktails and rattle traps are some of my favorites when fish are down in water column.
@@TRNoutdoors thanks. I'm trying to get back out there with some friends maybe next weekend.
Hey they biting at this time I'm tryna catch my first sc striper and hybrid
Great looking slabs! In my area, we'd have to search real hard for crappie that is even close to that size.
@@calloftheoutdoors8941 Thanks. We are blessed to live between Clarks hill lake and Russell lake. No shortage of slabs here. 🎣💪
Good to see you back at it bud!

Nice catch !! Is there any strip bass out there ? And do they usually have generator going ?
Yes sir! Some of the best Striper fishing around. The generation schedule is day to day but there is a number you can call and get updated schedule daily. Thanks for the like🎣👍
@@TRNoutdoors thanks much ! Stay ripping lip but stay safe !!
never know what you may hang into at The Hill. y'all caught some nice fish. thanks for the video 👍
🎣💪Thanks!
New sub!! Does anyone guide for perch on Clark's
Most of the crappie guide do.
Where is Clark's hill , what state and county
Upstate SC it borders GA/SC along the old Savannah river. It’s several county’s but I fish mainly Abbeville, McCormick in S.C. and Elbert county in GA
What were you catching most of them on.
Flukes. Thanks for the like🎣💪
I have had trouble finding them on Clarks Hill. Taking off Next Thursday and Friday for the full moon as well. How far up the Lake were you? Next Friday me and a buddy are gonna hit Deep Step in the river and hopefully get on some Bluegills and Shellcrackers! Great Video! I subscribed.
I fish upper end of lake because it’s close to home. I usually find them at night while bow fishing, the lights make the beds easy to spot. Thanks for the like🎣💪
Great tip. I was wondering how you thinned down 70k acres of shoreline 😂
@@stevenmartin8764 lots of bow fishing at night.
Just subscribed..loved the content. Monster gills and shellcrackers. I lived in York County SC for 16 years in NC now. What part of SC are you from ?
Abbeville county, Thanks for the like🎣💪
Stealing pregnant moms off there beds , shame shame , no babies no future . Can you dig it .
Go catch some mushrooms, let the damn fish spawn in peace , no young no future . Put that in your pipe and puff.
Where abouts on clarks hill you fishing?
Upper end
Tried fishing hybrid at the Russell dam and all long the bank GA side. No one caught anything. I guess the season is over. I'm sad because I can't really catch anything from the banks. Don't have a boat and don't know anyone with a boat...
The season is far from over, it’s just getting started. Try fishing afternoons if they are generating at the dam. The fish will school right before dark if water is moving. I don’t fish much live bait but I bet if you drop some live herring down from pier at dam you will catch them!!🎣💪
@@TRNoutdoors we were using live bait and moved to the calm end when they were generating. Maybe it was a bad day? We got there at 7:30am and they started generating. 9am.
@@TRNoutdoors It's an hour+ drive for me to get to the bottom of Russell dam. If you're in the area can you let me know if they're still there?
@@shindukess by the time I do they probably will be gone. It’s daily right now till about August
Use Cicadas for bait. Darn I wish I still had my boat. I got too old to fish alone and couldn't find anyone as a fishing partner.
You are never to old to fish!! You can always go off bank just to be on safe side. I bet the cicadas would work well. Thanks for the view🎣💪
Nice mess of fish. I see you had your crappie poles, too. Did you crappie fish as well? What's the limit on bass at that lake 5 or 10? Enjoyed the video.
Yes sir!! Crappie are my Absolute favorite. I have a couple videos on crappie fishing will be making more when summer gets here. The limit is 10 spots or large mouth or a mix of both not to exceed 10 on lake Russell. Thanks for watching 🎣💪
Was that Mister Twister fillet knife? That looks good!! My wife won't eat fish, me i could eat it every day! Lol! I'm gonna have to try that recipe. Enjoyed the.
Yes, I have wore out about 3 in the last few years. They are not very durable. My bunch loves fish tacos.
I thought he was funny when he told you not to hit him in the head.😂😂 Looks like he had fun. What size motor are you using? Great video!
I run a predator 6.5 on a long tail mud motor.
Was that a 1/32 or 1/16 jig head? How are the crappie biting now? Great video.
Honestly not even sure. Im thinking 1/32 but the tube jig is getting hard to find in stores. We hand make a lot of our jigs. The crappie are still biting but are moving back to deep brush as the spawn is ending
What part of Clarks Hill do you fish?
Upper end most of the time.
That's good fish you caught. What size jon boat yaou got? It's pretty stable. You do the platform yourself? Gonna fix mine up, but I'm no carpenter. Lol. Enjoyed the video
The boat is 36” wide and 14’ long. The platform is easy you can do with wood but this one is angle iron with a 1/2” plywood top. It’s fairly stable but you still have to be very careful when moving around. Thanks for the like!!🎣💪
I’m on a mission to find the 1.5-2lbers
Me to!!🎣💪
Man you SMOKED ‘em! I don’t thinkI’ve seen red ear that big here in Delaware! Dang! Nice video.
Thank you !! We are blessed in S.C. with some great fishing🎣💪
What kind of boat is that
1969 sears Jon, 36”w 14’ long with a 6.5hp predator long tail mud motor.
The panfish fishing you guys in the south have is amazing. Pennsylvania has some good fishing but nothing like ive experienced in the south.
We are blessed for sure but a lot of work goes into finding the beds. We just have a short window for the spawn. Good luck my friend 🎣💪
How do find the beds are you mid lake great video got a subscribe
I find beds bow fishing at night and by smell. I know that sounds crazy but when they spawn somehow they produce a smell from fertilizing eggs that is very fishy. I’m usually on the upper end of lake because it’s close to home. 🎣💪
I'm trying to figure out the same thing. Are they up in creeks? Main lake pockets?
@@eric78746 bottom has more to do with it than lake location. Shallow usually but not always, sandy, gravelly, hard bottom are best.
Great content! Appreciate the details you provide
Thank you sir!🎣💪
Nice catch
Thank you sir!🎣💪
What depth do you find most of the beds?
Usually 3’ or less. The bottom has more to do with it than depth, hard bottoms are best with small rocks and sand.
Great video, I was glad to come after a day on the water (SKUNKED) that under water footage AWESOME
Thank you sir!🎣💪
