A few weeks after I started my third year of high school back in 1987, one of the teachers got married. The principal, along with my girlfriends and me, planned a surprise dinner party for her. It took another few weeks, but it finally happened. On that special day, my mom was in an IEP meeting with the principal and faculty members. When I kept getting upset and saying, "Forget it! I'm a washout!", the principal, faculty members and my mom didn't believe me. When the P.E. teacher came in to see what the ruckus was, he yanked me out of the chair I was sitting in and pulled me out of the principal's office. He scolded me good. When he grabbed me again, I stamped on his foot with such force, he immediately let go. Then I elbowed him a good one. Thus, I basically knocked the wind right out of him. I then went back to the principal's office and sat down. When the IEP meeting adjourned, I told my mom I was going out for dinner with the principal and my girlfriends. I also asked her to tell my brother and grandmother the same thing. Later that evening, the principal and I, along with my girlfriends and another teacher, and the guest of honor enjoyed dinner at a pizza restaurant. After the party, when I got home, my mom, brother and grandmother were waiting. My mom asked me how everything was. I told her everything was wonderful. My brother and grandmother were like Cliff and Claire in this particular episode. But my mom kept them under control. As I looked back on that time, I wished "Dog" and Beth Chapman were the ones finding out everything. When I would've tried to answer, I would prefer Beth to shout, "STOP IT!!" "Dog" would've been equally burning livid. He would've then asked me to choose my punishment. I would've said to him and Beth, "Go ahead, skin me alive." But my grandmother would've intervened and yelled, "Don't you dare hurt my granddaughter!" "Dog" and Beth would've snapped back at her. My brother would've also intervened by shooing "Dog" and Beth away.

Theo learns the hard way what happens when he lets peer pressure get the better of his judgement. Can’t blame his parents feeling very very incensed at him. This scene would’ve made a great ending if it was tweaked like this… Cliff and Claire get home at 1:30 am, but Theo and his friends thought they had fixed everything up and are out of the woods. But as soon as Cliff sits down, he firstly kills the coffee table and then he and Claire smell cigarettes and alcohol on the couch and learn what Theo really did while they were gone, Theo enters and sees the serious looks on their faces and realizes he has to confess. Sure enough he does. Claire : (After looking at the list from Howard of things that couldn’t get fixed) This is disgraceful Theo : I was honest about what happened. Cliff : Yes you were son and because of that, you will be continuing to host parties and serving people. Theo : (Feeling slightly stunned) I am?? Cliff : Mhmm. Starting tomorrow at 5:30 am till 6:30 am you will be volunteering helping the homeless people at the shelter everyday for 1 full year. Rain or shine. Theo : But Dad! I have school during the week! Cliff : I know you do, you can be on your way there after you finish serving the homeless people. Which means, no more staying up late at night for 1 year. Theo : I have to do this on the weekends too?? Cliff : Yes and I gave you a break on that because after you finish there, you can come back home and do some house chores around the house, making it look so spotless and then you can do whatever you like and your bedtime is gonna be 9:00. Theo : Mom, Dad, That’s so early! Claire : Theo, If you argue with us, this punishment will be extended to 2 years. Cliff : Care to shoot for that? Now it’s going on 2 AM, I suggest you get some sleep while you can because since I know you have trouble waking up this early, if you don’t get wake up on time, I know a guy that’s 6’4 and weighs 250 lbs that works at the homeless shelter, I will call him up to come over to the house, go in your room to wake you up and drag you down there by your face. Theo heads up to bed feeling the brunt of his punishment
