he only gets extra turns for each time you hit his weakness/a crit due to his innate, so at some point you find this out (ie.spyglass) and decide how much to relent in exploiting it

I just finished chaos and mastema never used that skill instead spammed mahambarion and I had cleopatra who has drain light in team. he didn't taken more than 2 turns till I killed him lol

In the challange fights all the bosses get an extra skill that gives them a chance of gaining piercing on their next hit.
@@AC-CoDoes that apply to your party demons outside of challenge fights as well because I noticed that my Samael sometimes will hit through an enemy light null with his hamabarion.

its completely avoidable too, he only gets extra press turns as punishment for hitting his weaknesses or criticals

The Devs made it so he so self aware he will teigger an SMT3 Fans ptsd by giving himself press turns for exploiting his weakness. Luckily you can buff and debuff to dodge than pray you put endure on everyone.

Mastema at least has a clear gameplay reason for getting extra turns, if not a story reason, unlike Mot's "And I get two press turns. and another two. and another two. rinse and repeat for like a minute, and then here comes the Megidolaon spam" that is Beast Eye. Mastema you can at least prevent getting press turns by not hitting weaknesses. Not much you can do about RNGsus, especially since that shit has a 1 in 3 chance of being used.

First time i fought him, I was like 2 hits away from beating him....then he started doing THIS and i died. I was so pissed. Demi-fiend carried this fight for me on my second attempt
