Wheeling John Bull Trail with 5th Gen 4Runner, off-roading
First off-roading trip after upgrading my suspension. I am very happy about the new setup overall. Thanks to my friends helped stacking stone at gate keeper and spotting along the trail, I made it through only damaged the valance.

Video was shot on Apr 15 2022. Kirkwood just received a fresh snow. I was on the way back to home from Kirkwood ski resort. The light from the sky was beautiful, it was a little windy though. But I was able to launch the drone and shot the amazing scenery.
4Runner Off-roading Sour Grass Trail

We drove to the sour grass trail in early May. The trail is a little challenging for 4Runner with 285/70/17 AT tire. But I was able to get through with a good spotter and winch. Sour grass is an out-and-back trail, it is a little crowed in later of the day. Appreciate everyone's patience while we slowly moved along the trail.

We entered Barney Riley Trail from trail head on HW89 closer to HW4, spent a night camping near the hot spring. The water level is too high, so we did not cross river. But we found a new way out to 395 without cross river. And we tested it out. It was a supper fun trip, wish we could stay one more night and explore around.

A rare video of this river, very fine. Class V+ and VI whitewater, with many a portage. This fulfills some questions about its gnarliness.

@ I don’t think it’s run by top level whitewater kayakers/rafters, at least the sections you’ve documented so clearly below Sorenson’s. (No one has made a substantial drone video of this river until yours.) I’ve heard of people running the gentler section above Hope Valley (class I-III). Some class V kayakers ran the section below Sorenson’s and is described in “A Guide to the Best Whitewater in California” of Holbeck and Stanley. There are three editions of the guide. Only the final, third edition includes this run, and it is rated class V+ with many portages (including the unrunnable section of waterfalls shown here) and consisting of “screaming blind turns.” 😬😬 I believe H&S refer to it as “the twisted steep sister of the East Fork Carson”).

It is on HW89, there are two trail heads on 89. we entered the trail head about here. (38.6657910, -119.6975020)

Not sure why the effort to block license plates. Millions of TH-cam videos and instagram show plates but u are worried about your 4Runner? Doesn’t really make sense, but good wheeling video.

It is opposite with jumping. I was confusing and mistook these two. Quote from internet: Frontside means that you approach the rail so that it is in front of you when you prepare to pop. Your back is looking forward during the entire slide. For the backside boardslide, the rail is behind you when you approach it and you will look straight ahead while you slide on it.

Yea thanks buddy. I’m more comfortable to backside board slide. I can scissor legs on snow no problem, but hitting on boxes I’m still stiff and nervous . 😂

Believe or not the correct tire snow socks work amazingly GREAT , I tried them out last week on my 4runner in deep snow & thick ice they are BITCHEN

It is near Shaver lake, south entrance trail head is about 37.07024, -119.18034. You can find my route in GaiaGPS or other map applications.

There are two runners in the video. One is with Prinsu rack the other is with Gobi.

You mean the big round one on my bumper? They are Baja design LP9 , it is driving and spot combination light pattern.

Yes, some of the shot were taken without turning on the stabilization. Guess that’s why it gives you vertigo.

It is a hood NMO mount.
改善一下走线，在接近box的时候现将板子向内带5到10度，同时右肩向内wind up多一点这样才能有效的在box时瞬间将上下身反拧够90度。
