It truly sounds incredible. I do have the DB insert in which only knocks down the sound a few percentages, but I think it makes a cleaner bark. About the closest thing you can get to a MotoGP bike and sound and feel form a near stock streetbike.

Based on your experience, I think you will love it. All the excitement and energy of the 636 with less of the speed velocity and risk.

To not have the neighbors complain and sue the track. Yes it’s silly. People moving next to a 65 year old iconic racetrack and then complain for the occasional sound.

I would say it’s near perfect. Allows me to get into the power a little sooner and you can see, I’m able to hold each gear appropriately near the edge of power, but not have to shift to the next gear. I think stock gearing is too tall for the bike on thetrack.

If you can afford it, I would definitely say get it. Once you unrestrict it, it’s an incredible machine compared to everything else under 450 cc, Will seem like a superbike!

@@williamonthewestside Hella man. It is a big amount in Sri Lankan currency. Sri Lanka doesn't have that. It has to be imported from Japan or OC.I ride the ZX25R, but it doesn't fit me well. Will definitely take it one day and do full modification, install a titanium full exhaust system, flash the ECU and do more modifications.

The American version has two options for the dash. This is the race Dash. Yours should be in there.

a bit of warmup and occasionally shifting by feel, as the last 1000 rpms do not make additional power, so getting back into the torque.

@@williamonthewestside But its power comes at 14500rpm, and the torque at 13000rpm, you changed gears in less than 12000rpm, none of what you said makes sense, but good luck learning to ride with it

The bike overall was doing really well. If anyone was struggling it was just the rider :-) again first time back on the track in six months definitely a bit rusty. Planning to go out again at Sonoma on Monday will have a new set of tires fitted, and hopefully the new brake pads. Slowly getting back into riding condition. Thanks for watching.

Yes, a couple locations I had to keep the RPMs low because of sound. Also the video is a bit deceiving. It makes the bikes look farther way, but actually quite closer so usually if I’m backing up off if there’s traffic it’s because I want to keep a safe distance. The new 400 is tremendous amount of fun definitely is not slow, unless compared to the liter/superbikes, but you can ring it out without going hyper speed and risk of losing your license. If you’re going to only have one bike, I would do the ZX 6R. Similar feeling tremendously more power. If you watch one of the other visit videos, I posted I have a local top AFM rider (Brenden #44) on his bone stock 2024 ZX6R with Pirelli SC1 slicks, he is absolutely decimating everyone on the track. Congrats on the new 40th anniversary!

@@williamonthewestside William the problem with the ZX6R is that it is way too fast for public streets, and can hit 100mph in first gear. The fun for me in riding is going up and down through the gears, and I can't legally do that on a ZX-6R or I'll either be arrested or dead. Remember this is going to be my first sport bike. I should mention I'm also 60 years old so I think the ZX6R would just be way too much for me.

It’s a tremendous amount of fun on the track need to use all gears can’t be lazy. My primary track bike is a 2021 Aprilia RSV4 1100. The Kawasaki is vastly lighter and more nimble, but of course, nowhere near the stability and grunt of the big Aprilia. It’s ideal for me to ride the small bike at a track first to get my brain and body up to pace and to get familiar with the track conditions and then switch over to the big bike when I’m feeling best.

I think you are right. Turn one is one of my challenges. I need to stay farther to the right so I can keep the throttle open longer and keep more momentum into turn too.

If it’s your only track bike and visit the track regularly, I would stick with the ZX7R. If new to the track, then the ZX4RR will teach you a lot of better habits. I love the ZX4RR but wouldn’t be my only track bike.

Cost you more than twice as much I'd buy a 636 at that point

@@eddiestone4528 Yeah I know. Just saying. Between a parallel twin 400 and an IL4 400, this one is better. Personally I prefer literbikes. Have had several since 2004. Nothing beats the fxxk me factor of a 4 cyl machine, be it an IL4 or V4.

It really is a special track.

Fortunately not. I thought it was so darn loud. I would pop the sound but it was 103 dB sound day. I was being self-conscious early and then towards the end of the day never triggered so I could give it the full beans.
