Love bournemouth

I lived in Bournemouth for well over forty years until I moved abroad ten years ago. Nice to see this video actually because all I seem to hear is doom and gloom, but I don’t think it is anywhere near as bad as people make out. Tell me - where would people sooner live - Bournemouth or any other run down town in the country? Of course Bournemouth has its issues…just like every other place in the UK and unless Bournemouth has totally gone to the dogs in the past ten years, I would certainly return there if ever I moved back to the UK. People should enjoy what they have on their doorstep instead of jumping on the “Bournemouth isn’t what it used to be like” bandwagon.

Great video thanks. Turning right at 29.00 would have taken you to the charity-run St.Barbe Museum and Art Gallery. One of Lymington’s most fascinating attractions.

Use to visit Bournemouth as a kid before the motorway got built , we use to drive down from Birmingham took us about 4 hours & we would stay in a B & B near the pier. Some of my best memories was eating an Ice cream while looking at the ships waiting to unload their goods at the port. Happy memories of a once great country.

The boots store has been there at least since 1975, I used to walk through it after school to catch my second bus home from school. This was to access Haviland Road West which was there before the centre was built. The 23 bus went from my school in Southbourne to Boscombe and ran along the main road before it was turned to pedestrian only. Then the 25 bus to Holdenhurst Road and home. The other store with the canopy was the Co-Op back then. Happy times !!

The round building at time 5:54 used to be a set of underground public toilets, and the right turn at 7:04, Washington Avenue is where I used to live, number 14 😁🤣
