    At 1 month old, my Dad used to dip bread in milk and feed me with it. Growing up with separate parent, My Dad on the weekend would tell me Eat to be a big girl, it made him happy. but when I was at my mom, she was strict and making me walk fast to lose weight. So.. I binge eat. My naturopath is helping me and lead me to this podcast.

    Kirstin, I’m so surprised your channel doesn’t have more subs/views. It was your podcast amidst a sea of BED videos that gave me the knowledge I needed to start my recovery journey, and I’ve made progress I never thought possible of myself before. I’ve learned so much from listening to your videos, and I watch every single one as they come out. You also have a great voice for podcasts! Sometimes I put on your podcast after I binge and it really makes me feel better and reminds me that not beating myself up is part of the process. I just took a huge step and put a biscuit tin on my desk and for the first time in ten years I don’t feel like erasing them from my sight by eating them. It’s just sitting there. I’ve learned to find joy in my life and in friends and hobbies instead of in food. Really life changing stuff happening in your podcast. Thank you so much again, much love. 💜

    Basically my parents. I am an adult living with them and it is very irritating when they constantly comment on how much and what i eat. Subconsciously, i overeat and binge in secret because i finally have the freedom and Independence to do what i want, when i want. It's like saying: "take that, mom and dad"

    "Hungry = binge." Yes! I feel this so much. Extreme poverty in my younger years gave me lots of trauma around the feeling of my own hunger. Now I have a very complicated relationship with food. Someone on WW Connect recommended this podcast. So here I am, hoping to gain something helpful so I conquer the urge to binge. How does one handle the urge to binge when they have poor impulse control due to a neurodivergent condition like ADHD or ASD?

    Kirstin, I wanted you to know that you have changed my life. I have listened to several of your videos, and I was never told in my 52 years that I can stop binge eating with freedom. Meaning, no dieting, restrictions, or feelings of failure or Mondays start over. Just knowing I have the options of enjoying foods of my choice is liberating! I do have certain food allergies and Graves' Disease, so my food choices are limited. Thanks again for your wisdom, and I pray that your message will heal and free millions of individuals.

    You made me realize this is why I binge!!! When I was a kid, my bro and parents would eat all of my food so I started stuffing my face to eat my share, and now I have been able to remind myself that I don’t have to eat everything right now because food is abundant, I can always buy and eat it later and I will be okay if I don’t eat it. I’m even able to eat just a portion and leave the rest for later!!! 😱😱😱😱 THANK YOU!!!

    Thank you. Tonight I googled how to stop binge eating and found you. I was just about to continue eating even though I was already uncomfortably full from a binge. I followed your 3 steps and it was surprisingly easy how the urge really went away. I had already been thinking I would have to add the food I was thinking of (a YOGURT of all things) to my list of foods I can no longer have (restricting food). Listening to this particular podcast, I hope to eventually eradicate my "list" of foods I can't have in my home. Again, thank you. I have hope again that I can soon have a normal, healthy relationship with food.

    I’m so thankful to see someone talk about this!! Procrastination is taking over my life. I’m a perfectionist and also live with chronic pain. I have a recording in my head that says, “you damn well better do it right the first time or you’ll do it over!!” It’s hard to do things perfectly when u deal with so much pain so I put everything off….everything!! I’m ruining my life!

    • @KirstinSarfdeBingeEatingCoach
      @KirstinSarfdeBingeEatingCoach 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well that's not a very useful way to talk to yourself. Time to tape over that recording! I also have episodes on perfectionism, all or nothing thinking, and chronic pain that you might find to be useful. Perfectionism shows up for a lot of people who binge and it's so important to see that always striving for perfect can actually result in you being the opposite. It's so important to learn to live in the grey area and be okay with B- work (or you can start with B+ or A- is that's easier 😉).
