The Hour of Joy FAILED? - Poppy Playtime Theory

Hello! I've been a game theorist as a hobby for quite some time now, and after one of my old theories turned out to be right with zero evidence that I had come up with it, I've decided to take them public. I genuinely adore this series so much, it has fully consumed my brain, and I can't wait to keep sharing my thoughts. Thank you so, so much to everyone who has encouraged me to create this cha...
I do plan on playing this game somewhat soon. Yet I'm getting SCP vibes. For those familiar with SCP lore there's an entity known as Dr. Wondertainment. Dr. Wondertainment, depending on the SCP canon used can be either a man, a woman, or a company who creates anomalous toys, games, and entertainment products. Usually the SCP Foundation usually contains all of Dr. Wondertainment's creations. My guess is that they are the entity responsible for the living mascots, the sentient Rambley AI, and the arcade cabinets. So essentially the player could be trespassing in an area that was quarantined by the SCP Foundation. Yet it's too early to tell if UniqueGeese and his team will lean into the subtle SCP feel and slowly drop hints of the SCP Foundation and Dr. Wondertainment. However, I do expect Salem to be a major villain in the upcoming chapters though.
The poodle gives me “Playtime with Percy” vibes and I feel like it’s because of the face 😭

It both did and didn’t work. It worked because they killed everyone who was in the factory. But failed because the whole factory got put on lockdown trapping them inside
I missed the hour of joy because I was on lunch break 🤣
I like to imagine we called off because we were hungover, and then tried to come in the next day like ".... so does this mean I qualify for unemployment, or...?"
If that was blood then the last employees died not long ago before we wanted in chapter 1 cause the blood looked like if it wasn't long ago bc of it was blood from 1995 it would be gone it would have already dried out
as in each tape after the hour of joy It feels like we see lesser Staff in each tape After the hour of joy tapes so hmm
Well maybe the staff Found out something was horribly wrong and Slowly began to go Missing or rogue or just straight up quiting
My theory is it was caused by the owners. As in one of the tapes. They said they wanted to decreased the number of pay checks. But it failed miserably.
Watch the hour of joy tape then you’ll see that it ain’t failed
well what she means is that it Did kill alot of employees but Some Survived and probably recontained the toys but after that the remaining started to QUIT or go missing or just go plain rouge after Realizing the horrifc truth so it kinda worked but not in the way they thought it would

chapter 3 literally came out today & not everyone has gotten a chance to play through the whole thing yet. what’s the point of commenting this day of release other than to be a huge asshole? riddle me that one babes.

okay you cooked here, yk since 1006 is metal and stuff ofc he would leave a tar residue but if all those places WERE tar, then 1006 must either bleed easily or is more blood thirsty than we thought-anyways this was a nice theory video and i subscribed!! cant wait to see more theory vids from you, esp from poppy playtime should you choose to do so :3

-How do we know that the “tar” you pointed out in the first and second chapters isn’t just blood? -The Project Playtime maps are abandoned areas. It would be weird for the food products to magically be up to date. Of course, this still wouldn’t make sense if Project Playtime _did_ take place before the Hour of Joy, but it’s just something I thought I would point out. -CatNap seems to write about the Hour of Joy a lot, saying to never forget it and to rejoice in it, which wouldn’t make sense to me if it was a failure. -Again, not that noteworthy, but I’m pretty the one who freed Kissy was CatNap. He’s always associated with claw marks.
Yeah I’m happy to clarify! -I added a few shots of the blood we see around the factory; it’s very visually distinct from the tar, not just in color, but in the big tar patches (like near the statues entrance hatch) there’s reflectivity added that doesn’t match the floor around it, which the blood doesn’t have -My whole theory is basically that PrPT shows that it wasn’t abandoned at this point. Even in the tutorial, Leith Pierre speaks to the player in a way that is definitely being done live, and not a recording. You’re right, it wouldn’t make sense to restock if the areas weren’t in use, hence why I think the exp date is further proof the factory was still running -the “never forget the hour of joy” to me is read as “never forget what happened”, even “never forget the lives lost”. Think “Remember the Alamo” type vibes. -Since Catnap is allied with 1006, and Poppy is allied with Kissy, and Poppy says the prototype must die, imo it wouldn’t make sense for Catnap to help Kissy Thanks for the insight! @@fakefoxnotreal -No, I meant that at the time of PrPT, the maps _specifically_ are abandoned areas. Leith says that they’re not “secure”, which is the reason the Bigger Bodies are there, since there’s no reason to restrict them from being there. -What about “Rejoice in the Hour of Joy”? (It’s in the brightened thumbnail for the 2nd teaser trailer)
This video feels incredibly polished and engaging, I don’t go here but I was quickly drawn in and can’t wait for whatever follow up you have in store!!

Thanks for talking about the Tar they mentioned,if 1006 body is half metal then that would exsplain the tar residues he leaves behind,in the bron vhs tape in the back we see a weird poster of how they maybe got the toys to fit into the toys and maybe a clue of what 1006 looks like

I think more of the game theory lores. Plus never played Poppy playtime giving it a download.
The good toys are bad and the bad toys are good. Because they are innocent people that were turned into toys and they got revenge and the "good" toys are trying to kill them and the player has killed some monsters like mommy long legs but Huggy's current state is unknown.
I def see where you’re coming from. Personally, I don’t want to label them as good and bad quite yet, I definitely want to learn more about Poppy’s motivations. But definitely a good point!
The Prototype is shown to be perfectly okay with CatNap torturing other toys.
