Beautiful shots❤. I just ordered x100vi and can’t wait to shoot.
thanks for this! qq: does the knf filter fit in the haoge hood?
@@friday3347 yes, it fits perfectly!
@dicesales thank you! Big help!
Great video. Do you change your sharpness and noise reduction settings? I actually don’t prefer the grain in my image and I think it’s a fine balance between the sharpness and noise reduction setting. Too much sharpness and the image is grainy. Too much noise reduction and the image lacks definition. I am not a raw shooter btw.
It would be amazing an episode about how to set the camera to shot raw, and an episode about recipes!
Can you list out all the recipes that you use?
I used my presets on this video but the presets were inspired by FujiXweekly's Kodak Gold 200, Kodachrome 64 and Portra 400 v2 recipes.
I wouldn't worry about the longer video. I appreciated the numerous samples and workflows to see what your presets do. I just love the KG200. I know it's based on Fuji X Weekly but do you think it's possible to emulate your KG200 in a recipe. Now, that would be cool.
Which software for video editing are you using?
I use premiere pro :)
Dice, really nice walk thru the operation settings! New subscriber. Thank you!
Welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Wow nice photos! What do you like to set your white balance to at night for street photography JPEG straight out of camera?
Did you upload the preset you call kg200 as a recipe in the camera or did you edit it with lightroom after taking the photos
These are all presets so its all edited via Lightroom. :)
Off topic, but where is your bracelet from? It looks 🔥
From the Philippines :) thanks!
Was about to order it online, but they are charging $20 to ship. Deal breaker. The kit costs $70, plus $20 to ship. Not worth $90. Not your fault.
Shipping can be a bummer! thanks for watching.
Thanks for making a vid on this! I'm expecting mine in a few days. Some constructive feedback: The autofocus was a little hard on the eyes. I really liked how sharp the images were and the closeups when it finished focusing, but the blur took me out of the moment. Thanks again!
thank you for the CC :) thanks for dropping by!
Can I open and close CPL function from filter kit?
yep!
I want to sell my brand new Fujifilm x100vi Limited Edition with all accessories and original leather case
I can't help you with that but maybe you can sell it on eBay or Facebook Marketplace :)
Nice video,,,
the issue with x100vi is its impossible to buy. its selling for 2000usd at the moment.
Hey did you use a tripod or a stabilizer for these or was it handheld? Just wondering how good is the stabilization in this Fuji :)
@AleksandraBoguslawska these are all handheld :) Stabilization is really good for its body :)
@@dicesales yeah that's super impressive! Can't wait to try it out, you literally sold this camera to me. I watched your x100vi for portraits video and your shots were so good that I was instantly convinced
Hi, just want to know… can the lens cap closed without using the hood?
And the decals are preety cool too ~ can you provide the link for the stickers also? Thanks
I can confirm that it will not fit without the lens hood as the filter adapter know will get in the way.
The skin is from Alphagvrd :) but there are also cheaper options on AliExpress. See my "Fujifilm X100VI Accessories Round-up!" video for the links.
really nice video! thanks for the tips. can you tell me what recipe was used on the shot at 06:37? it looks so good!
That will be pacific blues with a custom WB :)
Hi there! When I use the back button focus the back gets a little overexposed, just in the screen. Afterwards in the photo is ok. Is this normal? Thank you Dice 🙏🏼
@AlexxJesus-x7v are you referring to the highlights get overexposed while holding down back button focus?
@ yes! When in AFC if I press the back button focus, the highlights over exposes, but it doesn't affect the final photo. Is this normal for a Fuji, or there's a setting I can change to fix this? Thank you so much Dice!
@AlexxJesus-x7v thats normal :) i think the camera's dynamic range preview just turns off while holding the focus or while focusing. You don't have to worry about it.
@@dicesales thanks a lot! Keep doing your inspiring videos! Greatings from 🙌🏼🇵🇹
Quick question: Are you adding grain in camera? And if so do you prefer strong or weak / large or small.
Hello, I think "grain effect" does not carry over to your photos if your shooting raw. But my preferred setting for my grain effect is weak and small :) Coz strong/large makes it a little blurry or not sharp, but is a subjective thing.
@@dicesales Thanks so much! Thats exactly what I was looking for.
Hi , i try to set my face detection on/off on the Fn1 button however its not working. do u know why?
Hmm... that's weird. Can you see the "af-box" at all? the "green box" when you focus?
@@dicesales yes i do!
Good morning, congratulations for the review and for your TH-cam channel. I have a question for you about the Fujifilm x100VI: to switch from photo to video mode you have to act on the rear menu (LCD) by manually setting the mode, but wanting to set any button as the REC button, while in photo mode for convenience and operational speed , does pressing the latter record with the same settings assigned for the video mode? I'm asking you because I did this test and by pressing the button dedicated to video recording on the screen the video starts recording but without any information regarding FPS and more. Thanks in advance for the reply
Hello! thank you so much! I'm kinda confuse with your question, ... but I have not tried setting a custom button as a "rec video" button. I still use the default one which is my drive/delete button to record video. Regarding the information on the LCD, have you tried pressing the "Display/Back" button to toggle the LCD information on-screen?

Thinking to switch to xm5?
not switching but I would love to try it :)
Can't the half press of the shutter hold focus?
Yes, when AF-C is used, with AF-S the camera focus once when halfpresesd so if you move the camera back/forth whilst half-pressing the focus will thus be off.
What is wrong with your enunciation? The California vocal fry is cringe. Speak up. Exercise your lungs. Have some self respect
I have this feeling that a 35mm FF equivalent is the same we have on our phones nowadays, which tends to look too ordinary to what we're used to see every day. I like it X100 line's results, but it seems too overpriced compared to what we already have on our hands 😢 In Brazil it costs 14 minimum wage, which is a lot!
I feel you bro! NZ pricing is high too! It's a big investment, but the X100Vi offers incredible image quality and a unique shooting experience and it really depends on your needs and budget.
A question: when You show BBF in action the focus square locks and stays on “target” while You move the camera. When I tried to do the same focus locks as supposed to, but does not stay on target while I move the camera. What setting is wrong? /Jon, SWEDEN
Make sure you are in AF-C mode and using WIDE area. :)
👌🏻
awesome video! i would love to know what film sim and recipe you were using for majority of the shots in this, specifically the ones in nature. the look and style is something im trying to achieve myself in my own photography! thanks in advance
Thanks man! I used my own presets for this video - the presets were inspired though with Class Neg, Portra 400 and Kodak Gold 200 :)
Thanks for the review. two things to know. does the original lens cap fit the lens hood and do you face any auto-focus issue with this kit? thanks :)
I can confirm that the original lens cap of Fuji will not fit with the Freewell lens hood, unfortunately. And, no, I did not get any AF issues with the kit :) Thank you!
Subscribing very well spoken and knowledgeable. Thank you
Much appreciated, happy to have you on board!
Very cool..just wondering how come they didn't just put the CPL already integrated with the "adapter ring" so its built in together..and when you slide it the CPL takes effect..and then just give you the pro mist filter separately? because what if I don't want to use the CPL? I then just leave the adapter ring and not attach it..hence making it just a pro mist filter....in my opinion I think it would have been better separate because not all scenarios require the use of a pro mist filter all the time and the pro mist filter's "look" doesn't look good on everything, depends on the creative scenario you are going for...lol but having the CPL separate and having it on the camera all the time seems more practical for everyday use and scenarios..the colors, skies, glass, reflection, the overall look contrast, saturartion.. etc...and when you dont want to use the effect you obviously just dont use the slider lol. you didn't see this CPL/Mist filter built together both as a con and a pro the idea is very cool but the execution could have been better?. haha .wouldn't it be better separate? Still considering this but was wondering if this will make the front element much longer plus it still has the squirehood...bc what I have now is a pro mist 1/4 and a Hoage Squarehood attached to the camera is it the similar measured distance..because I measured my setup and its about 3" is this setup similar in length?....really considering this to compare....thank you for the insight..
Really good questions here. 1. Why NOT integrate the CPL to the adapter ring? This is a pro for me as I stated in my pros, and probably because they want you to have the freedom to swap filters in case you do have more premium CPL or Mist filter. 2. Having multiple glasses (filters) stacked in front of your lens degrade your photos. It will introduce artifacting, vignette, less sharp details and glare/reflections when your shooting backlit or direct to the sun, probably the reason why they made it hybrid CPL/GMIST in the first place. 3. If you want to remove or minimize the polarization, you can just adjust the lever or the little knob. Or you can just swap the filter out to a normal mist filter. 4. Yes, the Freewell is relatively longer as seen at @2:44 compared to the Haoge kit.
awesome and thumbs up 👍🙏💪
Thank you! Cheers!
LOVE your content bro, having just received this camera - these tips help immensely. Subscribed!
It’s giving me Peter McKinnon vibes .. 😉 nice brother!
haha vibe bro! thanks for dropping by!
Just got 1 and I love it. I have been using shortstache everyday filter without a lens hood and now I can (yes, it fits in this freewell filter kit).
Sweet! would love to try the SS filter but its quite pricey hehe
@@dicesales it is but I wanted to test for myself (after consuming too much YT 😅) but surprisingly I found it useful as the black mist is quite faint and at most I will be using the polariser to cut the glare/reflection.
How is it compared to the Everyday filter?
@@frank.lee.M.D. tbh, I did not do any comparison. I started with just UV filter + hood without lens cap/lens hood cap. Then tried everyday filter and liked it more for the polariser but since the black mist effect is rather subtle I don’t mind it and left it on. However I can’t use the hood and had to put on the lens cap. So when freewell comes with extra tab that allows you to rotate the polariser with the hood on, it’s a no brainer. I am sure their mist/polariser is equally good and I would have no issue using it if I don’t have the everyday filter (or if it doesn’t fit) but since I tried the mix and worked I kinda leave it that way. Will try to compare them when I get the chance but I’m sure both would be fine (again as I am after mostly the polariser). I can’t use tell you that I don’t like the mist/haze effect of the squarehood version and as much as I like the build quality and more compact form, I think it’s a poor purchase for me.
Great review dude! Lovely photos as always
@ethanlowryphotography thanks man!! Hope to do a collab with you soon 🫰😁
This is my first gear review, and it's fairly quick and not in-depth. 😊 If you have questions about the filter, please comment away, and I'll try to answer them ❤ Thank you for all your support!
what film recipes did you use? love the colors! new subscriber here
@@totobot112 Thanks man! I used my own presets for this video - the presets were inspired with Class Neg, Portra 400 and Kodak Gold 200 :)
How do you like this combination, compared to glimmerglass 1 for everyday use? I’m wanting to know your thoughts about any color shifts, vignetting, and how the strength (seems to be a lot stronger) compared to glimmeglass 1. Have you also tried seeing how it would affect the flash, particularly without the square shaped hood? It seems that the filter “unit” & adapter itself is thicker than that of GG1 + adapter, so I’m wondering if that causes any unwanted shadows. And lastly how much of the OVF is obstructed?
@mizu1856 great questions! :) I did not notice any color casts as far as I know. I still use my glimmerglass, but I prefer using this when I'm shooting midday or scenes with reflections. I need to come back to you about the flash and OVF as I have not yet tried it. You are right that it is relatively larger than a normal filter adapter. Thanks!
Upon checking, you will definitely get the "dark" parts when you use flash which is unavoidable when you have a lens hood. Compared to the Haoge lens hood, the Freewell lens hood is about 10-15% larger so I would totally will not use it when I'm doing flash photography. For the OVF, you'll get obstructed around 15-20% of the whole frame which is pretty much the same as the Haoge. I'm don't use the built-in flash and also use the OVF so I don't really mind these caveats. Thanks for your comment though as I learned how to enable flash on my X100VI hehehe
This may be a silly question…. But how are you getting such great portraits on a 23mm lens? The face of your model doesn’t look distorted. Is Lightroom correcting it? Amazing shots from this camera! Nice work 😎😎
Thank you so much! :) 23mm or 35mm full frame equivalent doesn't distort the face too much if you are shooting the subject's face at an optimal distance - just don't be super close to the subject. 35mm if perfect for environmental portraits - it is one of my favourite focal lengths :)
