Red Red - What the Heck is It? A Ghana 🇬🇭 Food Adventure
I think you need some correction. Where you see this new market is actually not the central market you described to exist about 20 years ago. Where you see this new market was actually the station for the commercial transport vehicles. The transport station was converted to this modern market so that those occupied the old market move away from there to this new one so that the old market can be rebuilt. The project stalled and isn't completed.
Okay, thank you for the information. I knew it was a new location, but I never realized that they intended to rebuild the old market. I appreciate you setting me straight. This explains a lot about the layout of the market. Thanks.
Great review.
Thank you. A year later and I still love them.
❤ What's your spy camera that you use?
They're sport sunglasses. The camera isn't really hidden, it's right between my eyes, but most people aren't expecting it so they don't recognize it for what it is.
@@ThisGalTravels ahhh that's pretty cool haha 👌😄
Thanks
😎👍
@@ThisGalTravels what hotel in Cape coast did you say you stayed in?
@@dougscience6361 I stayed at Arafynn Hotel. It's on Google maps.
I should add, great rooms, reasonable price and an all day restaurant - though communicate with them at breakfast about lunch and dinner
@@ThisGalTravels oh brilliant, I'll check that out. Thank you 😊

I like their new moves, they add interest to the dance. 😁
Yes, they're getting very creative
I bet this place does rock at night. Sounds like fun to me 😻😆
Definitely worth the drive to get there.
You are correct, the blocking the exit was too much, they where too much!
Thank you! I appreciate your comment. The nice thing about Oxford Street is that there's always somewhere you can dive into or, in most cases, just cross the street.
Awesome, good to know 👍. Thanks
☺️
Great job please keep it up
Thank you!
I'm glad you are enjoying Ghana's great hospitality and sweet peace in Africa. Tamale is really a beautiful city. Don't forget to enjoy More of the rich natural Ghanaian Cuisines like TZ, Waakye, Koose, Banku, Fufu and Kenkey among others...😋🇬🇭

Awesome🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!!!
I miss life in Tamale, such a lovely city with loveliest and honest people. Watching all the way from Abu Dhabi.
I love it here, too.
I found the same tactics when I visited Ghana! I'm glad I had someone with me who could and did haggle on my behalf. I think they see a tourist and automatically see a target!
These tactics get used in a lot of places, but Ghanaians are generally friendly and easy going (mostly) which also makes them smooth talkers. Sometimes I have so much fun talking with someone I don't mind giving them a few extra cedis. I'm glad you had someone with you to help out. I hope you had a great time in Ghana. There's a lot to like here.
Thank you for this! Just ordered me a pair of terra fi 5 Tevas and i am so excited for them to come in the mail, i will wear all summer, including everywhere we travel! ☺️
I hope you love them as much as I do. I'm closing in on having mine for a year and they're still like new (once they get a good cleaning).
I love how well you explain things and honest you are.
Thank you.

My hometown nice to see you
I love Tamale. Glad you like the video.
Hope you can visit the Palace Mall, West End Mall. I heard there are a lot of them
There are a LOT of malls. I went to 3. Maybe the next time I'm in Accra I'll hit a few more.
😢sorry for the people who lost their livelihood.
Yeah. My friend is a delivery guy. He got moved to their other location on the opposite side of Tamale. But the rest of the people may not be so lucky. Even if they rebuild, it will be a long time.
Just a question. Do businesses in Ghana and other countries in Africa generally have insurance?
That was my thought, too. It's not required that I know of. I don't know if the owner here has insurance or not.
@@ThisGalTravels Regardless, it’s sad that this happened since it’s been around so long and seemed to be popular. 😟

Awesome. Great to hear!
I love this video. When I get in a funky mood I play the video of you displaying the fabrics and then this one of you dancing with the shirts. Puts me in a better mood every time. 🤣
I'm glad you're enjoying them.😄
Thanks for making this. Has anyone calculated the cost of digitally copying all of the library?
You're welcome! glad you enjoyed it. I have no idea if they've considered preserving the collection digitally, or what it would cost. It's a great idea. If I'm being honest, Chinguetti feels like it's just one or two sandstorms from being swallowed up. It's probably not that bad, but that's how it felt to me. I trust that the keepers of the library are doing everything possible to preserve all of the amazing knowledge and history within.
I’m purchasing mine today. When I looked at the sizing chart tho, despite this being a women’s shoe, or a men’s specific shoe, it had both sizing in a conversion so I was confused if I should order a size 8 in women’s or a size 6 in men’s. What did you end up doing?
I wear a W11/M9. In EU I'm a 43. I got the Men's 9. If your foot is narrow, I'd go for the women's shoe. If your foot is wider, I'd consider men's. Alternately, I recommend finding your EU size and use that, since there's no distinction between men's and women's shoes. Take a look at the label on your favorite pair of shoes and see if it gives your EU size. Also, if you go to the REI website, they have experts you can actually consult with online to help you find the right size. Good luck. Happy walking!
@thisgaltravels I will be spending six months in Tamale and would love to have the opportunity to connect. Please let me know how I can :)

Its nice to know that you can get into a conversation with the people doing the selling and its not frowned upon like it is over here. 😊
Ghanaians overall are very open and friendly, no matter the setting. Conversation flows freely here.
Absolutely gorgeous patterns and color! I think you have those made. Can you share how much it cost you in US dollars for the material and to have one made into a shirt. I like how you came out dancing to show each one, cute.
Thank you! I do have these tailored for me. Most people just need 2 yards for a shirt like this, but I need 3 yards. The fabrics range from $2.50-4.00 USD per yard. The tailor charges about $4.00 USD per shirt.
That was hilarious, and the shirts looked great ! 😂
@eileenphillips424 thanks. It was really fun to make this one.
Such a great video! Love the details and info 😁 definitely going to check out all of these, especially the Mosque!!
Awesome to hear. Glad you liked it! I hope you enjoy the National Mosque, and anything else you decide to try.
Amazing ! They’re going to make some fantastic shirts. 😄
I'm headed to the tailor today. Of course I'll be showing off my new shirts as soon as they're done.
