I was just on this ship. It's quite old now. But still fascinating. Super Structures are awesome. It fascinates me with the many systems collaborating to make the complete project work.

Did it offer roller skating?

I brought a universal remote, but it would not work with the tv, as the tv had a plastic cover over the IR... crazy. 2nd this method worked!!! However better, because the remote has a source button, but doesnt work, but if u unplug and plug it back in, it does work for 2to4 seconds after. Also, they put a mount on my tv that blocks the power cable, crazy... luckily i have strong fingers and was able to just unplug it enough and shove it back in. Crazy how they go to such lengths to limit u using source on the tv... like why??? Btw on symphony of the seas jan 2025. Everything works with firetv stick off my android phone no data, on wifi hotspot passthru except netflix lol, needs too much bandwitdh i think. Hulu/prime/crunchyroll/hbo/paramount all work, however the volume has to be turned up 100% on some of the apps. Also they now perma mute the tv when u pull the ethernet cable lol, cause anothr method was to pull the ethernet since it blocks IR and cant use a generic remote.

Hey guys, hope yuou are having a great weekend. We love the look of Icon and she is definately an impressive ship. We will sail on her one day maybe when she comes over to Europe!

Just sailed on the Allure specifically in this cabin 7730. They have stained the railing again and the graffiti is gone on the balcony. It’s a great room and location if you have kids. Pop right down for the carousel, right to Johnny rockets for breakfast and milkshakes, the tequila bar was right there, leaving the Aqua show was awesome. It took maybe 30 seconds to get back to our room. The kids loved the bunk beds. My wife and I really enjoyed the extended balcony. That being said the ship is dated. It was supposed to be upgraded before Covid but that didn’t happen and it shows. The carpet is done, the room vent at the bottom was destroyed, mini fridge was barely cold. Allure still uses the old swipe key cards so no wrist band access/charging. The main feature in the mall doesn’t extend or retract anymore. One of the 8 arcade games we tried worked….barely. Don’t worry the thing to charge your room is still fully functional and you’ll have to go to guest services to argue the charges. We had a good time the ship needs maintenance and upgrades desperately.

Thanks for the video. Gave me an idea of what so see in the ship. We ll be cruising by Apr 2025. However, I noticed in my app that there were days when complimentary restaurants are closed? I am expecting that for entire cruise there will be meals all the time and all day. Is there also an option not to have land excursion and just stay in the ship?

On the older ships (ruby for me) it works only through live tv and the football channel But it’s not working if football is on. I’ve been playing my Nintendo and it’s not working now. We have the opposite problem. I want HDMI not football. Doesn’t work for me with the bridge channel.

This is awesome! I was on Carnival a year ago and thought I was all prepared with my HDMI cable and also a separate universal remote. But it would NOT let me change the source no matter what I did! My next cruise is RC next spring on Explorer of the Seas and I'll definitely be giving this a try!

Looking at this room and wondering how it was from a motion sickness standpoint being at the back?

Assuming you were on the NE cruise that got diverted? Or is this video older? We are getting on VoS tomorrow and have this room booked - fingers crossed that the hot water issue is fixed!! And thank you for all the detail! One of the best room reviews I have seen.

Can you please tell me what specific lightning to HDMI converter you have? All the ones I’m finding say they do not stream Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu.

As of 2024, I believe RCL does not allow the adapters you showed on their older ships due to the ships wiring and breakers.

thank you, I'm going to try and figure this out. Hubby has terminal disease and requires a lot of rest time, so I do hang out in the cabin a bit with him sometimes. I get bored cuz the TV sux. I'll take my ipad, I know what hdmi cord is but not sure of what that white hdmi connector is.. off to search... Leaving for Uptopia soon so want to try and accomplish this. Thanks a bunch
