I've been really struggling recently. I live in the second largest city in the UK - Birmingham. I live in the suburbs with my parents and work full time in a screen printing factory, which is located in an extremely busy and congested areas. I feel little to no connection with my environment or the people I'm constantly around. I also find little to no time to pursue the things that matter most to me such as art, music and travel..and my family have no real interest in who I am as a person or what really matters to me. I am trying to find the positives on a daily basis and this video has helped immensely. I find it very strange that people around me do not feel as suffocated as I do - and just treat this like it is the norm. I feel for not accepting things as they are that I am different to everyone else. I'm a very private person that likes my quiet time, very introverted and enjoy my own company ..which is extremely hard to do living where I live..unfortunately.

There are often sections or small corners of a city that are amazingly serene. Wandering and exploring often is the best way to find them.. Sometimes they are just a short stroll away from the traffic racket.

Chiara, I loved your video! I have been to Naples and I loved it. As chaotic as it is (and you said the same thing about it being chaotic), I really loved it. I have a similar, but different, experience. I was born and raised in a large California city. My wife and I felt we needed to leave the chaos and problems of a large US city behind and moved to a small city/large town (~ 40,000) in Washington state. It is a nice place. As much as we loved some things about the new place, we missed our home terribly. After three years, we moved back home. Why? So many reasons. We cherished the opportunity to live somewhere different and do not look back at it as a mistake, but we realized that our home is HOME. I think a difference you experienced may be that you left an already large city, but one with a slower pace of life, to another large city with a faster pace of life. Perhaps that is what you missed the most. Pretty different from my experience. We all have various loves and needs for where we live, or wish to live. Some people love busy large city life and could never live in a slow, small town. That was my experience. Some people love slower, small town life and could never live in a faster paced large city. We are all different, and we should respect what is important to others.

Thank you very much for this video! I moved from a quit small village to a really big city for university 4 months ago and it was a real terror for me to be honest. I tried to look for places like forests, parks or even just trees, but there were almost none. And when there were, there was always crowds of people. The people in the city walk slowly but live way too fast, which i think is quite unnatural.

I hope you all enjoy watching it! This room was completed at the end of last summer and I’m so happy to share it with you all now! :) We calculated a total cost of around $900 between materials and furniture and we are so happy with what we achieved! We can’t wait to work on renovating the next room and to hopefully finish this in the Spring.
