Building A Custom Blind For My 2020 Prodigy

For the past couple weeks I've been working on building a boat blind for my 18x54 prodigy. Used 3/4 EMT and some War Eagle boat blind brackets for T-Lock. Review and spec overlook on my brand new 2020 Prodigy Platinum. Has black grass (brown) camo on it. Got rid of my Gator tail rig because it just want made with quality in mind. This boat is speced out and is loaded. Will be doing another video with the new big blade worked by baggy when i get it installed and on the water.

Do ya know how the gator tail motor holds up in saltwater?? is that deck riveted down??
I just sprayed mine down with a hose after each use in salt water. Floor was riveted

Trying to decide on what to buy. Prodigy, Gator Tail or Pro Drive. Leaning toward the Pro Drive with rapid full power reverse. What do you say?
Never had any experience with the rapid full power reverse. My buddy has a normal pro drive and he ain’t had no problems with it. I like the hull of prodigy. It’s built strong. Gator tail are kinda cheaper quality
what ever happened with the two blade because i have no hole shot either
i have one just like that and i hate it because with four people it wont plane . with three it barely planes and takes a while
Do you like the mud buddy more than the gtr? I’ve had a gtr 40XD and am thinking about trying out a MB 4000 or maybe 5000. Wish you’d make videos more often!
ok its been three years since you posgted . i have the same set up except i hve two deep cycle batteries and no poling platform . the other day i took out my son his wiffe and two little boys and couldnt get up on plane . have you run into that ? i have the three blade
i had a hard time getting on plane. I purchased a Hammer prop from prodigy and i got out the hole alot better with a load. i would recommend that

@@losethealtitude7730 man I felt like I wasn’t really getting its full potential. I didn’t wanna beat up and nice boat like that. And wanted an outboard. I’ve kinda gotten out of duck hunting a little. If I get another surface drive I’m thinking about getting a havoc or something similar to goon around in. A little cheaper and have a nice boat to run 70 and test up the bass.

What is the weight of this boat? I have a Pro-Drive 2054 that sucker is heavy as a mofo I think dry weight it’s 900lbs
Just ordered my boat. Was curious if you got the clear coat. Mine does not have it but wondering if it is worth it.
I got the matte clear coat. I think it helped it with scratching with littler branches and sticks. But not big stuff
@@acjoutdoors929 thanks for the info. Excited for my boat kind of wish I went the 5000 mud buddy over the 40hp. Had to save some $$ for a trolling motor. Is 55lbs thrust on the trolling motor enough for the boat or would you increase it to the 80lbs? What length trolling motor shaft did you go with?
@@wdpohlmann I had the 55 and I felt like it was plenty. 10 was a great speed and I usually fished around the 4-5 setting

Thanks for the video. I'm doing my first oil change on my mudbuddy HDR 5000. Its around 12 hrs or 11hrs on the motor. Can u tell me how u did ur valve lashing. Did u go top dead center
I haven’t even checked lash yet. But I do believe you check it from TDC
Willey Fast has a great video of how to check and set valve lash. You actually want to set it off the cam lobes as he describes in his video.
@@acjoutdoors929 always do too dead center where the valves aren’t using pressure. Should have .005 for intake and .006 for exhaust I think. Back off with a 13 mm then adjust with a t40 or your fingers it’s not hard to turn and tighten the 13 to 70inch lbs

We’re you unhappy with the GTR boat or motor? Or just the whole rig? A lot of people have GTR rigs down here in Florida. Rarely do you see Prodigy.

I’m trying to figure out the diameter of those bow rails? Reason being, I don’t think they’re industry standard 1”, they look beefier and look awesome! I am going to get a tubing bender and bend some up for my own boat but I want to make sure I’m ordering the right size tubing bender die. Any chance you could measure them for me?
