Larry Keel, an acclaimed flat-picking guitarist and singer-songwriter from Appalachia. Known for his sophisticated and powerful flat-picking technique, Keel brings a unique blend of traditional and modern sounds to his music, which he describes as ‘experimental folk’. His style combines raw honesty with a charming grit, showcasing his skills through a mix of reality, imagination, and mood in his songwriting.
Keel, who has appeared on over 20 albums and worked with notable artists such as Del McCoury and The Infamous Stringdusters, is celebrated for his dynamic live performances and has been praised by critics including Rolling Stone. In Spring 2024, he is in the midst of a songwriting surge, collaborating with talents like Peter Rowan and Jeremy Garrett.
