How to replace a outer tie rod end.
Today I am doing the outer tie rod end on a 2001 ford windstar. This job is pretty straight forward and is the same on pretty much all vehicles.
This job does not call for any special tools to do. However a pickle fork/ball joint separator can help with stubborn tie rod ends. I didn't need one in the video and about 80% of the time they come out for me like they did in this video.
you can rent a ball joint separating tool from advance auto parts or autozone. you will get your money back when you return the tool so don't worry about that. It is always best to grab a tool at the time of purchasing parts that could make the job easier, especially if the car your working on is your only way around.
I am new to doing video's so I am not put out many right now. But I plan on doing more auto repair and small engine repair videos in the future so please like and subscribe.

Just my 2 cents: cool video BUT i add just some more: first off you want to grease the paper gaskets. This way they stay in place and can actually be re-used many times. If you mount paper gaskets dry they stick to the cases, get ruined when you open up the covers and are a pain to remove. Just grease them which solves all issues. Next i see you installing the right side case with the governor in it which then needs you to fiddle with a screwdriver...no good! Just put the governor into the engine and then put the cover on! And the most important error is to adjust the HPP pre-load without the levers attached! You need to have EVERYTHING already attached to be able to adjust the preload. This is the most common error that people forget to adjust that preload which is something you do at the very end of installation. Just before you put the covers back on. This preload ensures the HPP stays closed for good at low rpms and won't have any freeplay...If you should run a bigger 38mm carburetor you NEED TO adjust (retard !) the opening timing which is done by adding a 3mm preload on the governor. Hey mate, what torque specs do you tighten these bolts down to please?

It’s 7ft pounds according to my manual. It is stated it the video. If your referring to the exhaust valve allen screws I didn’t find a torque spec for them so I used my best judgment when tightening them down

You can use a little bit of Vaseline to hold the governor in if its really fighting you. Good video
