This is one of the best most beautiful scenes in television. I know how it is because my biological father left me my brother and mother when I was just a baby. I finally got to see him when I was in njrotc in high school and my father who has been my dad from second grade and even till today and going. I only saw that guy in court and he still isn't doing anything for me and my brother. So my real father who has been with me practically all my life is my father and will be. So I want to honor everyone who doesn't have a dad or a mom who takes care of you. Because where would we be if we don't have a real family to take care of you no matter what.

Will Smith was a VERY junior actor at this point. He was so bad, he memorized everyone's lines, and , according to James Avery, he would mouth the words of the other actors lines before saying his. Avery was like "Uh, no. You need to stop that" So he actually coached Will on how to act and not do that. Will took the lessons to heart, and became better and better with each performance. Will Smith remembers "During this scene, when I was done with my tirade about my "father", Avery and I embraced. He whispered in my ear "Now THAT was some damn fine acting, son." It was then I knew I finally got it.

I wonder how would Will's mother Viola would handle this if she was there?

Man I started itching after watching all that hair coming out. I had shepherds all my life. Now I’m on my second standard poodle and my boy can sleep on the bed with me with clean white sheets and they stay clean and white for the week. No hair at all. But down side is I have to brush him all most every single day. But after having a poodle I can’t believe after my first one died that I didn’t get another shepherd. My wife is who got the poodle but she passed on and he became my best friend and I thought hard about getting my shepherd. I decided to go with another poodle. Next year I might get one for a companion for my poodle. I definitely remember the never ending shedding though with the German shepherds Vacuum almost every day. ✌️

Here on Earth 🌎 we have our Heavenly Father in Jesus, our Biological father ( Usually hit 🙏 or miss) and we have our adoptive father whom ever that might be ( foster parent, step father, big brother 💙 mentor 💙 etc. ) which is usually the best of the earthly 🌎 💙 father figures you will get 💙!!! God Bless those fathers who are like Uncle Phil!!!

As much as I have seen this scene, it still brings tears to my eyes. Yo really feel the pain that Will has from the moment his dad leaves the room. And I don't know if people can hear it and know about this but you can hear Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks) cry at backscene.

My dad never sent me a card, phone call, nothing. for the longest time I would ask God why my father didn't love me. My mom held down 2 sometimes 3 jobs, always made excuses for him. As a teenager she would tell me we had to feel sorry for him it he missed out all the great moments and knowing what a great man i grew up to bad. It stopped hurting sometime ago

Uncle Phil is one of the best father figures ever written. I haven't watched this show and I know he's a better man and a better father than others

HOW SAD

This Scene brought tears to my eyes and Unfortunately my Dad passed away 2yrs ago 22April 2022!! Our Relationship was strained up until he suffered a Stroke in 2018 I called him religiously to check on him and it was Hard....RIP Dad

Best scene in the show ever! Funny how Uncle Phil and Will were at odds a lot of the time, but when push came to shove, Uncle Phil cared a lot more about Will than Lou ever did.

I fight to hold back my tears whenever I see this scene. I know how he feels. I wish that I had never gotten to know my dad. And I love the stew out of my child. I've been everything to her that my father wasn't to me. My girl always comes first.
