Excellent wrap up! The Halloween Tree is one of my favorites - mostly due to it being so nostalgic for me - the writing still knocks the wind out of me though, Bradbury is my favorite! 🎃
Thank you! It's really amazing how much imagination and beautiful poetic writing he packed into that little book. Let me know if there are any of his books you recommend to check out next. Already read Fahrenheit 451 (albeit a long time ago) and Something Wicked; and I'm considering The Martian Chronicles next
@ absolutely on The Martian Chronicles!! Would also recommend The October Country for next year’s spooky season!
Cool, added to my list! Thanks Lilly!
Zombie Fallout by Mark Tufo, a series with 25 books. I have not read all in the series, because I borrow them from the library. The audiobook narrator Sean Runnette is fantastic!!!! I was hooked from the first book. It follows Mike Talbot and his family and friends during a zombie outbreak. Humorous.
Oh okay, cool! Thank you for the suggestion. Zombie survival stories can be a good time, and glad to hear it's humorous too! I might have to check this one out, and if I do I'll be sure to get the audio as well.
Thank you so much for participating!! You picked some amazing reads! I cant wait to hear your thoughts along the way
Thank you so much for putting together such a fun challenge!! I'm excited to participate!
Mexican Gothic didn’t work for me either! But I’m intrigued by this list and particularly interested in Final Girls Support Group!
Yeah Mexican Gothic isn't for everybody. I'm glad the list caught your interest though! You might like The Final Girl Support Group, it's certainly a faster paced book. Let me know if you decide to pick it up, I'd love to hear what you think!
Awesome list! Mexican Gothic didn't quite work for me but I really want to read The Hacienda!
Thank you! I look forward to hearing what you think of The Hacienda
This is such a great idea for a series and I really really enjoyed your thoughts on these two comparisons! I have only seen the first Scream movie but now I want to finish this franchise and read that book!
Thank you very much! The original Scream is a classic, but the rest of the franchise is pretty consistently great in my eyes! Hope you enjoy the book
Science fiction / horror is my favourite genre combo. Thanks for recommending some titles I've not read. I loved Annihilation and recommend Borne by the same author. Cheers.
Thanks for the recommendation! I love a scary sci-fi story, and definitely plan to read more from VanderMeer.
Such a great list!!! I loved The Unmaking of June Farrow so I’m excited to hear your thoughts on that one. Also love the inclusion of some romance books and I liked dead romantics more than the seven year slip, so I’m curious how it will compare for you!
Thank you so much! 😊I definitely look forward to reading and talking about The Unmaking of June Farrow. And I really loved the Seven Year Slip so I'm excited to read the Dead Romantics, since you like that one more!
I loved Annihilation book but did not like the movie
Agreed! I watched the movie recently and didn't think that it quite live up to the book
I have Slewfoot and the Halloween Tree on my tbr
I'm looking forward to reading both!

There are some really good books on this list. Frankenstein is one of my absolute favorite books. I also really enjoyed dead silence!
Many thanks! 🙏 Love Frankenstein, it's definitely a classic for a reason! And I'm really looking forward to Dead Silence, I've heard great things
The Turn Of The Key is another great Ruth Ware thriller perfect for fall! I'm excited to read The Death Of Mrs. Westaway! Great list!

I need to pick up the Vicious duology after your review! The TBR is just growing and growing…. 🤣🤣

From what I know about your taste in books, I think you might love it!
Awesome collection of books and loved your commentary on them! Some of these I hadn’t heard of yet and I’m adding them to my TBR!! Salem’s Lot is my FAVORITE King to read in the fall! Great vid! 😊
Thank you so much! 😌I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and found some new books for your TBR! Excited to hear your thoughts. And yeah, Salem’s Lot is such a perfect fall read; King really nails that small town fall vibes unlike anyone else. Unfortunately I was a bit underwhelmed by the new HBO adaptation, but still enjoyed it! Worth a watch if it's your favorite King book for the fall
All of these movies look a little too scary for me lol but I enjoyed learned about them!!! Another great video, thanks undead librarian!
@@danielleslomka5536 I appreciate you 🙏 I will say that I consider Ginger Snaps the best gateway horror on this list, also They Live isn’t too scary
Just what I was looking for!
Glad you found what you were looking for! Thanks for watching
A great list!! I have a friend who read Slewfoot and absolutely loved it!
I'm really looking forward to reading it!
I’m from Latin America but it’s hard to get recommendations here on TH-cam so thank you so much for the video! The first one, “Nuestra parte de noche” in Spanish, is amazing. It was one of books that brought me back into reading.
Thank you for watching, and glad you appreciate the recommendations! Hope one day I can get to a level of Spanish literacy that I can read a whole Spanish novel, but till then, these translations are great! I’m reading Enriquez’s most recent collection of translated short stories, and have been really enjoying them!
@@BrandonsHauntedLibrary hey, how lucky are we to live in a time when we can read stuff from all over the world! I love Japanese horror books and reading them In spanish is such luxury.
@@sebaveces How awesome! Let me know if there are any good Japanese horror books I should check out
Another great video with great recommendations! This video made me want to read Jawbone
Thank you for watching! If you do read it, let me know what you think of it! I quite liked it
I appreciate such thoughtful reviews!! I also loved Margo’s Got Money Troubles and couldn’t agree more regarding your thoughts on the term “chick lit.” I hope to read more from Rufi Thorpe!
Aw, thank you! 😌 Glad you loved the book too! Hope that Thorpe’s other novels, or anything she writes after this, is just as good!
Ah! Can’t wait for you to read the rest of The Indian Lake Trilogy. The 2nd is my fave! I have checked out There, There twice and haven’t gotten to it. Gotta prioritize that!
Super excited to continue the trilogy! I hear a lot of people have the 1st as their fave, so it's good to hear a differing opinion as I go into Don't Fear the Reaper Excited to hear your thoughts on There, There!
