I don’t agree. The best move is queen a1 (or a8 it depends how you count). Then the bishop threatened by the queen is forced to take the queen and you just move the knight to check mate. That’s the true solution!

With your trick, you have mate in 3 moves. If the black king moves to g1, it forces the white queen to move to e1, and the bishop to move down to 1f. To mate in two moves, you need to move the white queen forward one square, to h3. And here whichever option black chooses, there will be mate in two moves.

Why not Q to E6? Checkmate in one…

A) doesn’t make sense, c) can wait, b) is right. Capture the middle pawn with the king and try to sacrifice your knight for the other pawn. This will probably end in a draw because white can sacrifice the remaining bishop for the remaining black pawn

The King moves where it goes because it's heavily restricted by the Queen and other knight. The Queen limits it from moving upward, and the knight covers it flanks, meaning it can only approach your king. The Queen covers C4, and with the knight on G3, the E4 space is also covered. However, you have to move something. Moving your own King forward but around the pawn IS an option, but not optimal as it adds a step to mate, while moving the knight to F5 fully frees up E4, allowing a king approach to your knight, while restricting D4. Knight to H5 however only temporarily frees up E4, but the King going to either space is still instant mate from the Queen, as the knight now covers up any escape options the King would have on E4 from Queen.

You can't make that move. The black pawn has the white king in check.

Bb6 allows black to play Rh1+, which delays the checkmate. Bg1 instead of Bb6 would block Rh1 from checking and the rook also cannot use c3 because the pawn is there. Even after Bg1, Ka2 will make Bd3+ not a checkmate because the king can simply escape to b3. To block this, Bc4# should be played instead. If the rook moves up in an attempt to block the discovered rook check, the bishop should be moved correspondingly to block the rank.
