My first DAW was BIAS Deck II for Mac. Essentially a tape machine with some very basic plugins and editing. I then used Cubase for a while, before I moved to Logic Express 7. (It was the education discounted version at the time) Still a big fan of Logic today. What prompted me to get it back then was the inclusion of all the plugins and instruments. They are really fantastic. Also important to note that MainStage is one of the best things to come out of Logic for live performance. It's an absolute game changer, and though not included with Logic anymore, it's an absolute steal at $29 to have access to all of Apple's instruments and FX plugins for live use.

While I love Logic, has used it since Logic 9 and agree that logic is great value, that value comes primarily from having to buy it only once and then get free updates for a loong time. It ”only” being 299 is a bit of a false premise as you have to buy a premium priced mac to run it. That being said, the new mac mini should run it fine and is actually quite well priced.

It's probably the best movie, but they sould have shown the Marauders plot. Even if it was a 10 seconds dialogue, Lupin shoud have said : "By the way Harry, me, Sirius, that dirty rat and your father wrote that dusty map you've been using to go to Hogsmead."
