Symbolism Over Specificity The Gospels often highlight symbolic details rather than precise chronology. Practical Limitations Early Christians may not have known or preserved the exact date of Jesus’ birth. ⁠My point is, Reformed Calvinist Rock Stars ( Presbyterian or Baptist) are no better than the Charlatan’s in leisure suits. Look at the comments regarding Washer. He is an idol for many Reformed people. Fries, Bauchman, McArthur, Sproul, Lawson, Calvin, Knox, Machen, Piper, Begg, the list goes on and on. Stop revering these or any other men. Paul said it best in 1 Cor. 1:10-17. Read that and decide if following a man is what Jesus taught. By the way, my comment in no way disparages any of these men. I will say though, that Washer, Friel, and many others shared the stage and spotlight with Lawson for many years. It seems at the very least, they had no clue as to Lawson’s continuing sin (which they should have), or they chose to look the other way. I honestly believe that most if not all had no clue. I know how much influence “great men of the faith” have over people. I was a Reformed Presbyterian Calvinist for 52 of my 65 years 0:34 . I looked up to Sproul, Packer, Ferguson, etc. for years. I know the Westminster Standards and Calvin’s Institutes. All are a waste of time. They defend a spurious, man made doctrine. The Bible is clear and easy to understand. Washer even said it 30 seconds into this clip, Sola Scriptura! It is sad that he does not listen to his own advice. Post Tenebras Lux & Soli Deo Gloria!

I get what you are saying because my pastor has become part of the rock star club in other demonination. However, instead of being critical, we should pray that others like Washer do not fall into pride as others have done. A big part of why we see rock star preachers is because the church has evolved into huge organizations which I do not believe are patterned after God's design, but evolved following the church - state marriage that happened under Charlemagne. But this is what we have now. Praise God for those who are faithful under the conditions we have. It's hard not to get cynical. But that is not the heart attitude God wants us to have. One is your master, even Christ. Spend your time wrestling with God in prayer and listening to the Words of God. He'll guide your spirit to a God honoring attitude. Don't allow Satan to use the state of the church to knock you out of pressing to the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

@@kerenwilliams7775 I agree with much of what you are saying. “The church” today, is nothing like the 1st century church. There was no reason to go away from the church in Acts. Scripture tells us what the church should look like. The Epistles are our guides how the church should function Unfortunately, even in the first century there were men who decided scripture was not enough. They became rock stars back then. The Reformed Calvinist men in this clip along with many others, follow Calvin’s spurious doctrine. They are leading their followers astray as they become more and more popular. Just look in the comments, Washer is the greatest preacher in the world, etc. In my opinion, Washer seems to be the most humble of the gang. The reason I am so passionate about this is, I led a number of people to Calvinism and the Reformed faith. That weighs heavily on my heart. Sola Scriptura! & Post Tenebras Lux!
