I'm a transgender man interested in increasing visibility for transgender and gender non-conforming people while helping folks better understand some of the issues faced by the trans and gender non-conforming communities. This channel was started to document my upcoming bicycle trip to the Redwoods. Along the way I look forward to telling you about my journey to manhood through womanhood. I'll be talking about how dealing with gender dysphoria has helped me deal with suicidal depression and a chronic pain condition.
Translandia 2020
White Americans need to defend black Americans when it comes to the inequality in our justice system. Stop throwing your hands up and declaring you don't know what to do. Talk to your communities about how to stop police brutality now. Like, right now, call a friend and tell them you are sick of seeing murderous cops still collecting tax payer dollars.

After suffocating in my apartment, being driven to a mental health facility, and then, in a state of duress, being pushed out of my apartment I was made homeless. I left my home of seven years. Things have happened since the filming of this video and I will update y'all on that soon! Venmo @graysammitch PayPal.me/graysammitch $graysammitch

Been through a lot this week. Staying at a mental health facility while my apartment becomes habitable. Still dealing with drywall dust from a repair made my first week home from my bike tour.

These last couple of months have not been easy for me. Recreating the bike ride I attempted several years ago that was supposed to result in suicide and also filming the journey while talking about my history with gender dysphoria, suicidal depression, and chronic pain was not easy. The ride and the filming opened wounds that I had believed healed. I now know that I'm still in need of healing a...

I went MIA for a second, but I'm back! Back in Portland, back to my life!

I'm back in Portland!!! Came to openHAUS co-working to print off a few resumes so I can go find a job that will leave me emotionally available for editing the film and offer a bit of financial stability. Power was shut off while I was away so I'm figuring that out and then I will get to work on the post production end of things. The trip was great, I met a lot of cool folks and answered some re...

Last hour in Oakland, heading back to Portland tonight! I am so excited to get home after these three months away. This has been the most physically, mentally, and emotionally grueling thing I have ever done. I think I have the footage I need to make a compelling film about the last ten years of my life dealing with gender dysphoria, suicidal depression, and a chronic pain disability so I'm hom...

Staying in Oakland for a few days! Went to San Francisco, yesterday and am going back tomorrow. Trying to talk to as many folks as I can about gender, depression, and chronic pain as I can! It's been pretty good so far. The best part though!? I have my train ticket home. I'm going home. It's been nearly three months and I just want to be at home again. The day after I get back I have a table at...

It's been seven years since the event that effectively ended 21 years of suicidal depression. I'm experiencing some pretty discouraging technical difficulties but I'm looking at all the things that have gone right on this adventure I, a formerly disabled person, rode a hundred pound bike hundreds of miles! Pretty sure I talked to over 100 people from several countries about gender, mental healt...

Came out to my mom's house to help around the house while she recovers from surgery and to finish off the film in the place that I first decided to transition. Hopping on a bus from northern California to Arizona!
You took on such a huge task. You survived both trips but you got to return knowing who you are. So hard to get support sometimes.
Great friends are hard to come by. I hope your situation starts an upswing. 🧡
Things are indeed swinging upwards! I'll post another video about it in a couple of days.
It hurts to see your pain. Sorry fren. Hang in there. Miss you tons.
I'll be alright. I think!
You are my new role model 🙏🏾 you give me life your strong , a risk taker and have the best courage I’ve ever seen I really look up to you , Your powerful I hope you know that ! My new idol 😊
Thank you! It's not much but I'm doing what I can!
You’re a good man, Sam!!
Thanks, I do what I can!
Congrats dude, you’re doing great. It’s all part of the process.
Thanks! I am doing great, right!?
I dig the beanie too 💛
Me too! Although, this $3 beanie is starting to fall apart and I'm so worried about the day I'll have to replace it.
That hat definitely looks good on you 🤓
It's probably because I'm so good looking😜
That’s why you should ride with fat people who are also in pain like me c: if you could get me out of the house, of course.
Yeah, if I didn't have to rush out to Arizona was thinking about getting in touch with you! Not in a weird way, just maybe a heads up on cool bars for #translandia
Thank you for sharing your personal experience, as you stated it’s not easy for you to talk about it. Many people see the restroom dilemma as a much more minuscule problem than it actually is. Stories like these help those individuals understand the justified fears of the trans community.
Ya know? I can sort of see how someone might think it's miniscule, but tell them that when they need to use the restroom and they aren't able to, for whatever reason.
You should probably take some psychedelics in the desert. Seems.... right.
Yeah....probably not going to do that. Thanks for the suggestion though!
Yea! You made it to the Redwoods! You’re making a difference! Any act of coming out with your truth and speaking out for trans women of color is bravery. Can’t wait to see the movie! I’m proud of you, friend
Yeah, I did!
something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk and we learned to listen. Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible. Mankind's greatest achievements have come about by talking, and its greatest failures by not talking. It doesn't have to be like this. Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future. With the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded. All we need to do is make sure we keep talking. Stephen Hawking
Thank you for the conversation. I love you. The service you are providing to trans people is valuable. The education you have given me is invaluable. my mind is open. It's people like you that close that gap. You are my hero.
Thanks dude!
100 subscribers! Congrats! Respecting limitations is good. Picturesque scenery behind you. What campsite are you at?
That's Cape Blanco! Bit of a climb into camp and about 5 miles off 101 but it's got showers, USB ports, lockers and the bitchin bike stand with tools! I can not for the life of me get that danged rack you gave me back on correctly after shoving my bike into a Honda from Eugene. Might hit a bike shop tomorrow.
Awesome!
Hey Sam. This video makes me so happy. You’ve got my 100% support. Can’t wait to hear more!!!
That's intense. And also yum. I love those damn potatoes. They're obviously not fresh but d-lish! Can't wait to watch!
Eating some right now! Pretty good stuff!
Don't put pressure on it. Take your time. Go when it's right.
Congrats on your anniversary!
Thanks dude!
Yeah Sam!! You got this!! Miss you man!!
Thanks bro! Maybe if my body holds up and money works out I can bring this show to the Midwest!
I'm so excited for you!
Me too! It's going to be such an adventure!
Looking forward to your TH-cam updates! Excited for you! This is going to be amazing and life changing!
It's going to be one heck of an adventure!
We will be in New Orleans but will be thinking of you ❤️
Have a great trip!
Sam, Im so glad I got to meet you and today and that you felt comfortable sharing bits of your history with me! Im sure your second trip to the redwoods will be beautiful and i hope you get a chance to share your story with more people than you ever expected. safe travels and if youre feeling chatty when you get back, Id love to hear how things went! ~Amy
It was really good to be back in the place that really launched the idea of me going into bars and having open conversations with people about gender. Great meeting you, I'll try to stop by again when I get back to town!
That hat looks great!
I'm pretty excited about it!
i hear that burden ..unlike /empathize ... No one worth any consideration judges you unfarely.. except yourself ooo, consider that
just fun with words, nothing to consider here, move along.
@@yossarrian it is interesting the way folks expect you to be able to function at the same capacity as them. One of the most beautiful things about humanity is that we can all be human while experiencing a vast array of talents and abilities!
I'm so excited for you and to have this journey be told from a happier placer <3
