To answer your question. Most people who play this don't suffer from mind-numbing terror. It allows them to keep in mind the small things, like water and oxygen.😂 They tend to not die so much. Honestly, I've seen dozens of playthroughs so I'm enjoying watching you freak out more than the gameplay. I dont know what that says about me, but I ain't holding it against you. This game is an experience that leaves its mark on you. I hope you finish it. I'm rootin for ya! Thanks!
Have you encountered the ghost levitation yet I get completely by accident, I went into the echo dead zone next thing I know my sea moth got knocked out of the water I was in there deep so I was really hit hard the hull was at 13% when I came to
I’m still a coward in this game, I hear one scary noise and it’s a big “nope, back to the shallows” for me lmao
The pda pause feature may help you with such situations as dying of thirst, it's located in escape>options>accessibilities pda pause. Feel free to read all you want once that's on so you can figure out if anything you scan around you is used for water or hunger. no one tells you this but you have 10 more seconds after running out of air to get to the top or in a vehicle 12:50 there's a pda i'm unsure if you got, but also having a light on may cover the lights of the pda and so can local databoxes.
You should turn the water to “cinematic” in the settings, it looks a lot cooler
2:19 your on planet 4546B, a category 3 ocean planet
At least it’s not the “red plague” or “call of the void! Mods. I love Subnautica, the flora, the fauna, and most importantly the vehicle designs
Swim up to him holding a peeper and he'll give you a hug Even hugs your ships
Glad this was in my algorithm, I'm definitely subscribing after this! Keep it up:)
Eee tysm!!
“Slluuuuuuaaaying” 😅
Fabricating an entirely new tool because the battery is about to die IS PROOF that we viewers really should help her out with small things like that. You CAN swap out batteries. And better yet, you can rechage them! The game doesn't make it obvious, in any way, it's even possible to do this. Many uncurious gamers (like ImMutton) really need this kind of help early on.
It's such a good job she decided to record her gameplay and put it online so viewers could help her out. Imagine if uncurious gamers like this simply played the game without showing anyone what they were doing. How would they ever get anywhere in the game? I don't even know how anyone played video games 20 years ago without TH-cam viewers to tell them how to play it the right way.
Girrrrllll you need to READ the things you scannnnnn😂😂 you scanned the very tree that would save your life and then died like 20 feet away from it and missed the sunbeam
I have learnt my lesson 🥲
@immutton you got this! You're killing it, but it will help a lot if you read the story stuff and the scanned stuff as quickly as it is safe to do so in the game. It's also good to explore the island further (when you can). There is, without spoiling, a lot of resources that you are and are not yet exposed to. It will also have a completed purple tablet (which you got the blueprint for in this episode), but you don't have to make it yet if you don't want to. You totally got this! I hope you're enjoying the game!
haha thank you was gunna make this comment myself
You didnt scream tho.... progress.
I thought so too 😬
So brave 😏
The bravest girl 🫡
I hope you end up doing a full playthrough, this is my favorite game and my first time watching you play but I LOVE seeing people play it for the first time, definitely subscribing!
Thank you so much for the sub! The game has me in a choke hold and I will be see it through until the end o7
"Is that the aliens that live here?" *Biter swims up for a closeup*
My anxiety levels are off the charts when you're swimming above the water's surface.
The fact she went to the crash zone immediately is crazy😂
Just start grabbing fish and cook em you’ll get water from the fish
You're so sassy at the ocean, I love it! It deserves every curse you throw at it!
Lol
the bravest gorl 🙌
I will conquer the ocean 💪
I love these snips!
Thank you!!
Tbf you could have screamed louder so you did great considering 😌
Your right I should be giving myself more credit 😌
I thought she was gonna turn thn find a leviathan
The thing was like let's test her bravery 😂
The ocean really testing me
Haha this short came to me out in the wild! Happy doomscrolling ❤
Not me getting scared from you getting scared
I would recommend using the breaststroke instead of swimming the way you have been!
The breaststroke in superior in every way
There is a trick with the Stalkers you might notice if you can observe them for a while. Give them some metal scraps and it will keep them occupied for a while.
I have recently finished this game and I loved it! Hope, you enjoy it as much as I did :) P.S. I'm also scared of the ocean XD
The story has got me invested! Hopefully my constant state of panic eases so I can think straight about what I am doing :')
@@immutton it probably will get better, at least, for me it did, I got much more confident by the end of the game :) P.S. I wrote you a little "letter" in Instagram DMs, nothing creepy, just some of my thoughts about potential collabs and stuff, check it out if you'd like. No hard feeling if you don't react to it though :)
9 Tips without spoilers 1. You can press "R" to reload batteries so you dont need to build next tool 2. you can unlock way to build seaglide and other by making a scanner and scanning bits of ship laying on the sea floor 3. YOU DONT WANT GO TO AURORA "the big ship" THERE IS DANGEROUS 4. If you chave cooked food eat it fast because it will decompose and damage you if you eat it to prevent it you can find salt and it can be put on a food 5. For progress you can just upgrade your stuff and if you cant find materials for it explore lifepods and scan stuff around it if you want more lifepods recive messages from the radio it will give you other beacon 6. The noise in backround is mostly fake to make you scared 7. When you die you loose every ITEM that you get fromthe time you last leave the lifepod 8. You can save game manualy and its no autosave so you can save and if you do something wrong just leave and get back in 9. You chave 10 sec of life after you lose oxygen and even you have full black screen you have 2/3 sec of life
Bro, just let her figure out stuff by herself. She's not gonna improve if you're all backseat gaming.
@@eddiemitza2544 im just trying to make her enjoy the game without having any anoying problems. I dont know what's wrong whith helping new player make playing expirience easier and better😮
You Swim faster if you have your hands free, and making water using bleach gives 2 water bottles
You died in a 2 meters below the surface and 5 seconds to swim that distance because you gave up. You died in about 35 meters with Seaglide in your hands because you gave up. You died of hunger and thirst in a 2 meters from the fresh vegetables, sitting and waiting the death, because you didn't know that it eatable, because you don't read the information you scanned right after the scans. Please, don't give up (in the game and in the real life) and do scan & read everything that might be helpful, especially the last line. Keep calm be brave. We're waiting next episode. :) P.S. If you're attacking stalkers, they'll starting hunting you in a group. Try to... feed? Keep fish in a hand, don't drop before him.
THANK YOU!! I will not give up 💪
Are you sure about the stalkers? I have always scared them away with my knife, never given them any fish (didn't know that was a thing unfortunately), and have never been hunted by them.. I had the feeling it might be the other way around, the more of them I hurt, it seemed they bothered me less and less.
@@HenrikJansson78 Every time I attacked them they also seemed to leave me alone but I have been too busy panicking to really observe them properly! I am totally going to try feeding them next time >:)
@@HenrikJansson78 Yes. You hurt one, he leave, but then a two or three swim to you. You choose - afraid them, scary them, or live with them. I think that it is not only stalkers who behave like that in this game, but not all kinds of middle predators. About feeding... there is a hint about that in one of PDAs, but players usually don't pay attention to that, especially who plays first and last time and don't return to this game and replay.
Just wait till you see things bigger than your house in the distance. Or when you dont see them
I've never actually seen the way the game handled the sunbeam arrival when not present near the pickup location, so it was interesting to see. I loved the look of mixed terror and intrigue on your face after the explosion and listening to that last broadcast. And the "oh, there is a story... i want to know... I can adapt" was a cool reaction. Others are giving great tips about how to use the game's mechanics to help you out, and it looks like you're accepting their advice. Good luck on the adventure!
eee thank you so much for watching!! Glad you enjoyed :)
Just saw this on my TH-cam homepage :) Subnautica is probably in my top 3 of my favorite games of all time. Its ambience, story and music are amazing! I'm intrigued to see how you'll manage with your fear of the ocean. So if you need any tips, I'm here for the ride! :D
AAAA lil old me on your homepage! Thank you so much for watching! Loving the game despite the constant panic
You are the first TH-camr playing Subnautica I have watched who managed to miss witnessing the full Sunbeam event.😂
HAHAHAH this has me wheezing. So typical of me to mess up majorly 😂
0:17 It gets worse, even than you experienced in this ep. _However_ ... 25:19 This cave system is honestly one of the scariest in the game, IMO. It's also a very important one to explore; not absolutely required AFAIK, but you make things harder for yourself by avoiding it. There are other dark areas, other enclosed areas, but few that combine both and I don't think any rise to this biome. There are areas with more threats, greater threats, but by the time you reach them you'll also be much better equipped and understand the game a whole lot more. So, if you can make it in-and-out of this cave, you should be able to handle the rest of the game alright. :D I'm glad to hear you'll continue this! (sub earned) But, please, if things get overwhelming do take breaks, long ones if necessary. It might be a bit boring, but play extra cautiously if it helps. I think this game is amazing, but no game is worth getting a heart attack over. :) If I may, some tips (nothing spoilery, but move on if you want to figure it all out yourself): 1) Scan everything, grab everything. Both can unlock blueprints and help you in other ways. (You can avoid scanning the hostile creatures, tho) Build one of everything, at least, even if you think it's not something you'd use (and there _are_ items that are completely optional) 2) 26:34 Do _not_ stop swimming upward when you're out of oxygen. You're not dead until you hear the death noise, so even when the screen starts to black out it's possible for you to break the surface and survive 3) Some materials used in crafting can also be eaten, helpful if you're in a tight spot for food or water
Thank you so much for watching and leaving such a wonderful comment! Very keen to continue playing :D
@@immutton You're welcome! One other thing I forgot to suggest, if I may: Take some time to just go in and around the Safe Shallows (the area your lifepod is in) and the surrounding Creepvine forests for things to scan. In particular, you want a Habitat Builder which will let you do a ton of stuff, but there are other things to get. It's possible you'll have to venture into the Bloodkelp zone (the biome with the blood red grass) for some pieces. Regardless of zone, you should be able to find a lot without having to go inside wrecks or deep within caves. (Though you'll want to later.)
@@immutton Just a note on that deep cave. Yes, he is right, it's a really scary/good cave, but it's also one that you should stay out of untill you have much better equipment. You definately don't need to go to the deep and dangerous places to find new stuff to scan/build, there are quite a lot of them lying around in the shallows (the cosy, bright places). That should be your focus, look for equipment to scan. Start in the shallows, where you are perfectly safe. After that, the weed places is a good place to go, now you know that the Stalkers aren't that dangerous. After that you can go to the deeper open space areas. It's a bit more dangerous, but you can outswim everything that is dangerous and they only do a little damage if they get a nibble of you. A nice goal is to find stuff to build a new base in a good place. Oh. Nights. They are for hunting and preparing food and water around your base. Nights are pretty nice in the shallows. :) Never leave home without a couple of water bottles and fried fishes.
one tip....if you are scared of sea....dont use headphone for this game....some sounds are really scary. Above of all....remember its a game....sea and its animals are not all that bad....enjoy the sea
knowledge is power ...the bulboo tree you scanned...if you had read it's details....you would have survived the game. i dont want to spoil your game play.....but scan and know....at the same time...be careful not all animals are friendly
Im playing through this game for the first time too! ❤ im far than 6ou but its amazing! It has become one of my favorite game!!
Gotta say, I appreciate the effort to avoid profanity. I know that different cultures and sub-cultures have different views on it and have different trends in what is normal. As someone who prefers less profanity, thanks. Anyway, I love a blind playthrough of Subnautica. Have fun!
Open water scares me too. I had to pause the game and walk away countless times but after a few days of it I did beat this game. Great game.
This game was made in 2014.
The giving trees.
You have like 3 seconds left when blacking out
Scan more and read more. Those are perfectly non-spoilery tips. A lot of your questions have answers if you scan and read the results. You might even traumatize yourself less. It's also generally preferable to avoid rather than fight the dangerous bits of nature. I know that you're Australian but in this case not everything is hell bent on killing you.
the ocean freaks me out which is ironic considering i live on the coast of australia but the more you play, the more comfortable and used certain areas you get. best of luck with this!
Don’t worry, it just wants ‘hugs’
