They’re surprisingly quick despite their looks. The NISMO version’s as quick as a stock E46 M3 to 60. I don’t want to be seen as a ricer boy though.

I've got the 2008 350Z Roadster with the VQ35HR Engine and brembo's etc (track). I LOVE the car! It's sooo awesome. Except the duel mass flywheel. But I can tell you my car does NOT sound ANYTHING like that one in this clip. I'd almost suspect Nissan gave them one with a Nismo exhaust system on it, to make it sound better for the punters. Either that or we're ripped of in Australia. Exhaust upgrade to a true duel system is next on my "to do" list.

@adampope64 But the best nissan's never made out of the japan, the GTR's never sold out of japan, except for the R35... The best silvia, the S15 didn't came out of japan too... so In other countries you only had the Z as a good sportscar, wich in the later years were a bit too fat...

the 370 can actually do a 0-60 time in under 5 sec. so its definitely a great performer this year.

EVO MR has a zero to 60 in less the 5 seconds too boss... as for the g35, its a luxury vehicle, but I have the touring package which has the stiff springs, brembos, and 19'' rims. Its not completely different. :) G35 is a cruiser, 350z is more of a sports car (no back seat too)

The EVO is also a pig by those standards. The power to weight ratios of the 2 cars are very similar.. and a G35 is much more a pig than a Z, particularly a 350z that hasn't been optioned out to weigh 3400-3500lbs. Some of the Z models also have a much tighter suspension than a G35. The difference in weight and suspension makes them very different cars to drive hard.

I researched the HR engine, and its quite better, Im sorry for using the older model in my debate, but thats all I've seen. The HR uses the new horsepower rating system, which is much more strict.... I have heard it's over 20whp higher then the old model (which is considerable!)

dude... half a second is a LONG TIME when talking about 0-60 times... From a roll, yes, they will behave similarly. From a dig, the evo will eat the 350 up. And on a track the advanced AWD EVO again dominates the 350z. If the 350z were properly light (i.e. ~2750 pounds) it would be a complete monster, but its a pig :( How do you get off not calling a g35 similar to a 350?

What are YOU talking about? The 0-60 and 1/4 mile times of an 07-08 350z with the HR engine are within half a second of the EVO, and they pull over .91 G's on the skidpad. I'd say that's fairly close. If you race them from a roll stock for stock, which is the real test of how fast a car truly is, the Z can win depending on the year of EVO. Racing from a dig is a test of traction as much as anything. Don't compare a G35 to an 07-08 350z, same platform, but not the same car.

350z's dont even touch EVO's man, what are you talking about? I own a g35, so dont think im just hating, but its not close to an MR performance.

There's nothing wrong with the performance of a 350z. They perform very closely to your EVO stock for stock, and IMO look a heck of alot better. I don't have one, but I have driven several, and having owned a 300zx, the 350z is true to the spirit of the Z car.

all 350Z's perform well, you need to rev the engine and use the gearbox.. it's naturally aspirated.. and the handling is better than all previous models... I outhandled a Ferrari 308 GTB this morning in mine.. If you think it's not a fast car then learn how to drive.

s2000 are cool. Great exhaust sound. I prefer a bigger engine with no turbo though.

hi - Top Gear were given a pre production model. It was not tuned ( chassis or engine ). They have since tested it again and given it great plaudits. They are fantastic. Today mine smashed a kinder egg that was in a box in my boot. The chocolate was outside the foil, and the foil was still wrapping the toy. That is Savage!

Well...I can't say that because I've never driven one. Just pointing out that it's necesity or lack therof should have nothing to do with whether it is functional or not.

So what is the purpose of the light? To tell you when to shift? If that is the case, then would'nt be nice if it did it without compromising safety? You say, you should know when to shift..fine..but what does that have to do with the light's function?
