Super idea, and great sound! Is there any way it could be through Bluetooth (wireless), instead of plugging directly into the phone, so as to not damage the connector or internal electronics? I know there would be a small lag, but it might be better overall...

The principal problem I see with this would be the moisture from your breath playing havoc with your phone's electronics. The suggestion below that it be a cable might be the answer to that. The actual mouthpiece would need a hole to allow the moisture out and then the mouthpiece could connect, via a cable, to the phone. It would be even better if you could also make this device communicate via Bluetooth with a synth or keyboard. It could be the cheapest and most convenient wind controller on the market.

Love it!!! But it does need a cable rather than directly into the USB port., otherwise it will be broken very quickly!!!!

It needs to be on a short or long lead between phone and mouthpiece to allow movement and expression. Plus you won’t snap the connector!

neat needa make sure that thing doesn't wiggle though, that's a good way to wreck a phone's delicate USB C port

What's this instrument???

Not available in the US... Despite soundmachines stating that their products would be available via their US distributors on their website.

As a Re.corder user, (now, for approx. ~2 years) I have the same opinion as "@rogerredford4010" in his objective statement 😥. • For me (and not only for me ...) it seems, that there is NOT ANY noticeable progress AND / OR support for actual Re.Corder's users ... provided directly by it's creator: Artinoise Co. Although I have succesfully solved previous key problem with LATENCY (on more Android v.10 - v.12 devices), using an external solution: basic, pocket MIDI sound module ("MiniEngine" from "MidiPlus"), with BLE→USB dongle, there is at present still NOT ANY possibility of [TRANSPOSE] the transmitted tones directly from Re.Corder controller. • At present (July 2024) - the Re.Corder itself, (with still "original" firmware ...) has only the [OCTAVE] switch +/-, available via shortcuts of 3x sensor buttons ( ○ ◘ ► ). Additional +3 common MIDI features provides me an external sound module (mentioned above ↑ ) → [VOLUME] (1-128) / [PROGRAM] (128x GeneralMIDI sounds) / [REVERB] (1-128), switchable via it's rotation encoder. But so common and so standard MIDI function as a [TRANSPOSE] ( +6# / -6b ) has neither Re.Corder itself, nor the common and affordable sound modules (maybe except of new ... & quite bulky and acumulator-less: "PianoBox PRO HOST" - á ~158 € 🧐] ► And now, there is on FB announcment about an HW module, about this "Re.Ceiver" (↑), prepared directly to Artinoise? → and again, again without ONE elementary MIDI function [TRANSPOSE]. So, what to say here? 🤕... maybe just: a big shame - and also missed opportunity 😭.

Das Konzept funktioniert in der Praxis nicht. Instrumente richtig zu erlernen dauert und benötigt Interesse von den Schülern. Der Preis für das elektronische Spielzeug ist für Eltern der Schüler in einer Grundschule zu teuer und auch die Schulen selber investieren nicht mehrere tausend Euros für einen Klassensatz.

Great video! I was looking for some examples of the re.corder used in a daw and this exceeds my expectations! Looks like it has a good sensitive breath sensor. And much more affordable than other ewi’s!

What about latency?

how to insert the effect that changes the sound if I move the re-corder above or below? In ableton how can I map the notes? when I use some instrument that is not in C it obviously doesn't play any notes for me. So I would like to map the midi input on ableton differently. thank you

One thing seems to worth mentioning. Looks like rotation sensor is calibrated when re.corder establishes the bluetooth connection. At this moment, flute should be placed on a flat surface, with holes looking up. Otherwise it might be calibrated in a wrong way, and "middle" sensor position would not match actual flute middle position. If you feel this happened, just disable the bluetooth connection, put flute on the table with holes/buttons/status looking up and enable bluetooth again.

I think it could be useful to be able to set custom CC numbers. There can be reasons to change CC configuration on re.corder to other numbers. For example CC1 (default inclination) is already used in Soundpaint as a only expression control (hardcoded). So if i want to use breath control for it instead , I have to remap this CC on re.corder to something that synth does not use.

I just was relaxed with music after ordering one and than I got these synths and I realized I want to play Arturia synths with it 😅

This is a brilliant piece of jazz and the half notes are freaky. I didn't think this instrument was capable of such pitch bending.

Not really useful if you can't simutaneously also change the pitch/key and fingering ....
