Humanewashing in the UK with Rose Patterson
The humane hoax is alive and well all over the globe and today we are leaning how it is used in the UK. Rose Patterson is the Co-Director and Actions Coordinator for Animal Rising. After getting a masters in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics, and Law and working for World Animal Protection she joined Animal Rising in 2020. She has worked on the strategy for multiple campaigns, designed and coordinated dozens of actions and led large complex projects mobilizing hundreds of people, including the disruption of the Grand National horse race which garnered a great deal of press and most recently the largest investigation into animal farming in UK history targeting RSPCA Assured farms.
Rose shares Animal Rising’s work exposing humanewashing by the RSPCA and how as Rose says, the RSPCA is failing farmed animals. She also tells the story of Animal Rising’s infamous disruption of the Grand National Horse Race in Great Britain that got huge media coverage. Hope and Rose also talk about strategy and the importance of the grassroots in animal advocacy.

    I don't disagree with the points the gentleman was making but my opinion is that lowering the population to sustainable levels is a better solution. More than half the countries in the world have birth rates below replacement levels so it is achievable.

      This is also a good tool in the tool box. To solve the climate crisis, it will take numerous approaches and solutions. Lowering the brith rate is a good idea and needed, but something that someone can contribute to (or actually not contribute to 😉) only a few times in their lifetime. Going vegan is something that everyone can do every day. Both are vitally needed.

      Great point! Why not both? As noted below, our individual, everyday actions are powerful and make a direct, immediate impact on our Earth and in animals' lives. Each person changing to a plant-based diet creates a ground swell of impact around them on their friends and family, who in turn create their own powerful impact on their circles.

Gerry Ambury (wildlife photography throughout), Jo Frederiks (drawing of lamb), Zoe Hope Koln ('Sexual Poitics of Meat' prints), Nat Modey ('Sixth Mass Extinction' tree image), John Beske & Marla Rose ('Veganstreet' memes). Interesting and pretty upsetting interview. Lack of respect for sentient beings must be at the bottom of these terrible acts. I actually came to this site after watching an incredible video about liberating horses. I was wondering if the New World Sanctuary for horses, run by Ren Hurst, is still in existence? She was interviewed by Emily ten years ago or so, and discussed her simply wonderful connection with horses. Does the Sanctuary still exist? Is Ren still actively working with horses?

    Why pick on vegetables? Aren't they living organisms also? When we wash our hands, we are destroying perhaps billions of living organisms. Walking around outside, killing insects we step on. From what I can tell, it's impossible to be alive in this world and avoid violence towards other living beings.

    • @compassionatelivingvegan
      @compassionatelivingvegan 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you are correct, there is no way to avoid all violence and the Jains and vegans acknowledge that we must cause some harm just to live. But what the Jains and vegans are saying is that we can reduce the amount of harm we cause significantly by not eating animals or animal products. There is a difference between the suffering of a sentient animal, bird, or fish compared to a plant or microbe. The Jains recognize levels of senses that a living being has to experience pain and distress and causing harm to animals is much worse than killing a plant. It is common sense that we feel it is acceptable to mow the lawn, but not to kick a dog. There is a huge difference. Also, a vegan diet kills less being in total. If you include eating the meat, dairy, and eggs of cows, chickens, etc., those animals ate plants as well, so many more beings are harmed. A vegan diet causes the least harm and with so much violence in this world, the least we can do is to try to reduce the amount of harm we cause.

  • @krzystofsibilla3516
    @krzystofsibilla3516 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Dairy from cows who are part of particular community seen as equal members allows us to minimize violence otherwise would be necessary .Jains living in the cities will be part of violence since the citie's existence means violence. " Live simply so others can simply live" is not un option anymore but main guide .Can we do it in present day cities? Thank you so much for spreading good Info.

    This is just perversion and satanism. The fact that women are involved doesn't make it worse than it is already. 'humans' female or male are a primitive species more apt to violence than love. Women and Men the same. There is no difference. The fact is that now females can express all the violence they were used ,previously, to repress. It's a form of liberation somehow, terrible but so it is. America and the rest of the world need a Great Reset and with urgency. 🗡️👽
