will a 12 volt winch run on a 18 volt tool battery? a vehicle's alternator output is usually around 14.5 volts and surface voltage of a 18 volt tool battery is around 19 volts, under a light load it drops down to about 16 volts, seems close enough to me. this would work with Milwaukee DeWalt or Ryobi batteries as well.

    The 508 simmers beautifully! The upgrade doesn't. Turn it too low and it goes out. You can get an aluminum simmer plate that allows you to simmer a pot on the 'upgrade' without turning the burner all the way down.

    Always break the chips. Go around about a half turn cutting, reverse that pin and come back a half turn, or more, until the chips are broken. The go forward again, rinse, repeat until you're at the end of the thread cutter.

    Please don't use gasoline in the 508,it will eventually gum up the generator, they cannot be cleaned and and replacements are nearly impossible to come by anymore. 533 generators are still plentiful, but not the 508.

    • @elliottsconstruction2639
      @elliottsconstruction2639 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had the 533 for around 15 years, only replaced the generator once, probably 10 years ago, I used stove fuel For a few years but have used gas For at least the last 5 years With no problems, I think using it regularly helps, Old gas is the enemy.

    • @JoshSinnott97
      @JoshSinnott97 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the reply and for warning me to use it frequently if using gas. I plan to use it every 1-4 weeks so I'm not sure if I'm better off using coleman fuel because even if I syphon out the gas before I store the 533 until the next time I use it, the old gas might clog the generator I'm assuming?

    • @mikafoxx2717
      @mikafoxx2717 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JoshSinnott97I think the idea is to run it dry before storage if you're not using it all the time. If you're on a camp trip or on the road coming every day it'll not gum up, much like in cars.

      I was wondering how hard to make 1/2 thread on a pipe about 12" in the ground. I guess you would have to make sure that you hold the pipe down good (even though its tight with hard dirt- but I would think it might twist with all that torque and cause damage to another coupling down the line) Maybe I am wrong but that is my thought.

    I have replaced 3 generators in the last 3 months on my 533. The wire clogs up in them and Coleman said I should use Coleman fuel every third time which was news to me. Coleman fuel is far too expensive to use it regularly, it would be cheaper to buy a gas one.

    I wish they would've kept the wire cutter how they had it. It really comes in handy for straps on boxes. Harbor freight has those plastic straps all over their boxes. For me it's not practical to feel safe when you have the whole blade tip exposed while you are adding pressure lower down. If you are not ready soon as you cut the wire rope etc it could go flying if you are not ready for it to give.
