Wow, that is a nice catch, with some nice lobster sized Marrons! From the information yhat Ive gathered, Marrons are the 4th or the 5th in the order of size and species of Freshwater Crayfish in Australia, and the world? There are different types species or subspecies of Marrons,Blue,Black etc?

But please teach your kids to respect the fish use a net man, don't drag it up the bank don't stand on the fish either. you need to do better

Only thing I ever caught at Pipehead Dam was a gilgie caught by hand. That was over 50 years ago; before young whipper snappers like you were born. If you ever get the chance, check out Ironstone Gully Falls. It is a gem after a big rain. It's not very high but here are multiple levels over a broad flat ironstone formation. (It's between Capel and Donnybrook.)
