Not true. One can pretty much make whats going on and a clear screen is still going to have replications.

@ducatiLuver my Naked version (2005) made max 134 mph (indicated) without any modification, just good maintenance. From my point of view, more than 130 mph for a naked one is craziness.

@ploughable ever since I switched out the front-end with one from a GSX-R750 I've not rigged the speedo back up since it's no longer plug&play. I'll be fixing that soon I'm sure :-) Probably hitting around 120mph in the straights, 100mph in the fast sweepers, and 40/50mph in the tight turns

@lukeandjoshua If you really wanna add top speed you could adjust your gear ratios (add teeth to rear sprocket *i think*) But you consequently lose a little acceleration. Lest time my speedo worked my top speed was about 131mph (indicated), which is about 124mph.

@lukeandjoshua - not necessarily. It plugs inline between your stock ECU and the fuel injection so you can enrich/lean the mixture depending on RPM. When you add an aftermarket air filter/exhaust you are adding more air-flow. As a result, to get the most of your engine, you should enrich the gas flow as well using the power commander. They have a library of "maps" you can choose from depending on the brands of exhaust you use and it ultimately makes the bike "quicker".

Right on d4rkb1u3 .. Can't make it monday, but I'll be there Jun 20th. Also thetrackclub has a memorial weekend special for two days which I'm signed up for .. Love the RC51 .. I have a Duc 998, 848, S2R also .. VTwin power!!!

@ducatiLuver I was there that day in B group on my RC51. I'll be out there again on my SV650 on Monday. I feel you with the groups. B group is the fun group for a little bike like my SV. A is so much work!

I was in the "B", i.e. Intermediate group .. Could move to "A" but, I like being a big fish in a small pond vs a slow fish getting my butt smoked by pro racers hehe

Gotta love an SV cleaning house. Stay on that throttle! What group were you in that day?
