I've noticed that choosing the right type of charger (twin charger, turbocharger, supercharger, etc) makes a difference, if the car also performs great at high RPMs. Some caars will struggle even with level-4 upgrades. I think that's a problem baked into the game itself. The new Pontiac GTO, for example, is just unable to reach 405 km/h, the maximum speed in the game, it just can't. What car are you having problems with, so I can give it a try?

@@taekan625 Havent played Prostreet in over a decade, but all muscle cars had this issue - you upgrade them, they lose power and fail to accelerate past 3rd or 4th gear. It would be fun using them in grip races, but this power issue kills all the fun, when some tuned up family hatchback can beat them in a straight line (i constantly have the supra v charger drag race from Fast and Furious in front of my eyes). Its a non issue at this point. I was just curious how you got yours to work.

I'm afraid I'm of no help in this case as I've never played the PS2 version to know the differences :'c

For this car in particular, Stage 1. If you use higher Stages, it makes the car very unpredictable. Stage 3 and Stage 4 won't make the chasis touch the ground, but the car will wash out while turning and it will jump too high, which is something you don't want. And keeping straights will be hard, even if you make a stiff setup, as the car will feel too "floaty". Stage 1 will make the car touch the ground, and sparks will come out from the contact, but at least the car will be easier to drive.

+1. My favorite NFS game by far. Speed Challenges are something that were never explored again in a new entry and I'm deeply disappointed by that. That's why I return to this game from time to time. The sense of speed is unmatched.

This game really made me feel like I was in there, listening to that guy speaking about the race day between races, battling against the other racers (and some of them were really hard to beat, which made things even more interesting and real for me you know, that sense of having a "rival" and trying your best to be better than him), the customization that allowed you to be extremely creative, the speed challenges that like you said, really made you feel dangerously fast (the only game that made me feel scared of pushing the car to it's limits). I could write pages and pages explaining why I love this game so much and still wouldn't be enough. I miss those times. Games were magic man. Thank you for reminding me how much I loved my experience with this game.
