It's not the most manageable phase of the game I agree, there is a heck of a lot going on 😅

Yeah, it's quite a fun game, unfortunately my controller has decided to stop working, it would be a much easier play with one.

It's good, there's definitely a lot more to do in the late game than before, so we'll see how that goes once we're there. For the early game, it feels a lot more streamlined. It seems easier to get going on the farm.

Good question, What makes any colony builder better than another? I guess it depends on what you're looking for, this isn't as hardcore as Farthest Frontier, but still has it's challenges with food sources during winter etc. It's easy to get in to, uses the standard colony builder controls and just lest you sit back and enjoy building your settlement. The novelties, well I like the Norse vibe from the game, it gives it that slightly darker feel, kinda like a gritter version of Northgard. I'm not 100% sold on how the technology points are gained, as it seems a bit arbitrary that completing tasks rather than having faith in the Norse pantheon gives you access to sections of the life tree. Other than that it's trying to stay true to building (or rebuilding) a Viking settlement after a tragedy and using what resources you have at hand.

Open TTD is a fantastic game, I have spent many, many hours growing companies in it, it is however showing it's age. I'm hoping that one of the new transport games being released will live up to the legacy of Transport Tycoon.

As far as I'm aware the demo does not, it has subtitles tho. Thank you for watching

Hello, Yes it is possible, you just have to set a path through the techs that may mean you're forgoing some in favour of getting to the correct Epoch / Era. Other ways are to hold out on the Era advancement and collect more stars to gain a higher score, therefore delaying the mismatched Era tech deficiency, that also comes with the risk of another nation advancing first of course. This can also have a benefit though, if you are close enough to said nation, you can get science bonuses from osmosis. However this is also a double edged sword as it means the other nation has a greater influence on that city. The best way to counter all of this (that I have found) is to have a city focused on science, gain writing as soon as possible and create a scientific ward on one of your assimilated outposts.
