#83 A WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING ALBUM REVIEW - BLACK SHEEP
มุมมอง 8321 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In this episode of That's Hip Hop, Mark, Ali and Isaiah go beyond just discussing Black Sheep's iconic debut album, A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. They dive deep into the essence of the early '90s Native Tongues movement, where Black Sheep emerged alongside hip-hop giants like A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. With sharp lyricism, bold humor, and a blend of jazz-infused beats, Black Sheep broug...

What's The Name Of The Track Playing In The Background??
F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
the most sadistic
Necro and Tech are both some of my all time favorites!
Robbery 95' is a fucking banger!
@@SIDisTHEnecros albums of rare freestyles and demos are all ruthless. Gotta love necro man
RON is the best, 🫡
M.O.P.
I don’t see a problem here I was 16-17 years old when they both came out. We couldn’t believe what we were hearing when N.W.A. came out with Dopeman. Huge hit, but it changed everything instantly.
🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
The perfect Storm! Timing is 🔑
Yeah prime example of planets aligning
Lupe Fiasco definitely recognizes the brilliance of Aesop, both are amazing.
lil wayne poor soul is the first autistic lil rapper that got extorted and abused for fame by real gangsters. So many have followed.
Lil him was before lil Wayne dum ahh boi he didn’t want to hear it tho
@@Mediazzzzzz lil him or lil Kim? Lmao I heard it obviously I edited her in the video. Here we go with gate keepers who think they know it all. SMH 🤦♂️
Lil zane too lol
Lol oh yea lol he falls in this too lol
eat his ass
I just got done looking thru my list after Gorillaz it reminded me to listen to Deltron3030 "positive contact" that sh** is futuristic NOW - wtf you talking about, WAY AHEAD of its time like 2001 found out about it later on when MySpace existed and no smartphones so a teenager and it still hasn't aged and helped me with freestyle ability with the creativeness and vocabulary aspect before or around the time Eminem became highly lyrically intellectual
Great review, just discovered this channel through this video. You’ve got my sub!
I need drugs
When the shock value novelty wears off necro is garbage
@@adamwood1463 no I disagree, there is a lot to learn from Necro.
Nice
M.O.P. is grimier than Mobb Deep
Yes that’s a good one
Who’s catalog of grimier music would you give it too though, Mobb Deep or M.O.P?
Factz. I love Mobb Deep with out a doubt. But M.O.P. has them beat
two twins is crazy 😂😂😂
We don’t care
Don’t care about what?
@@davidstylespro No one asked if you care David
Necro’s an artist
Yeah multifaceted too
He's Ill Bill's brother
Cousin
They’re cousins bro
Necro is multi talented ⚡️
And business minded. All time legend
Sexorsist is my favorite album. Death rap ❤
I don't like 1 of 4... but pretty much everything else is classic
Fire? That type of rap is outdated nonsense
@@MSharifTrading outdated nonsense? How dare you haha it’s one of those things where you had to be there. Jedi Mind Tricks are underground legends
@@thatshiphop909 oh that was jedi mind tricks! I respectfully apologize for my ignorance
@@MSharifTrading haha all good player haha
has trizz ever thought about coming to st. louis mo
Ive learnt not to rewind Aesop. Instead ill wait for the coin to drop instead of forcing it. It might be a day, a week or a year and ill be like oh thats what he means
Would you be able to review Rhyme Asylum’s first album: State of Lunacy or their second album, Solitary Confinement? It is in the vein of JMT’s Violent By Design.
Sounds dope! Ok -we'll add it to the queue of albums
What I hate is up until a year or two ago nobody knew who he was and you could listen to all his music FREE ON TH-cam and now all these podcasters blew up "how cool he is" yes he's fucking amazing but as a dude who grew up tripping on mushrooms and listening to Aesop, this developed how I saw humanity and now people are monetizing on him through podcasts and TH-cam put up secac warnings on all his best music and I can't listen to it or share it "because it's banned in my country (the USA)" this is fucking garbage. He wrote music for people NOT on the bandwagon, for people who DIDNT think like the rest of you, and now y'all turned him into another cog. Fuck you.
8 solid emcees is sort of a good way to explain it cause, not all 8 was that good. Lol Big L and Jay yeah, and a few others, but not all 8. 😂❤
Hey guys! I just want to say that I recently discovered you guys and I love the podcast. It feels like I’m hanging out with buddies who are just as nerdy about these albums as I am. I’ve been wondering what happened with Andre? I loved his input in older episodes.
Thank you for the comment and compliment! Andre is his own universe, you can find him on TH-cam if you search lyricology101.
Funny enough though you still bought a Gordon Liu movie, who is the lead in all the 36 chambers movies 🤣🤣🤣 so you grabbed a major outi wutang influence just not the right one lol
I think Jay was a huge bridge since he did gangster rap over those type of beats bring one audience to another sound
Daleon tf introduced me to him
Was it at a show?
I discovered necro through my physcotic cousin giving me a necro rare demos and free styles CD when I was 16 haha necro definitely wasn't the best music for him to be listening to 😂 he's dead now overdosed on drugs...i think 2pac and necro are the best hardcore thug rappers thats ever lived in my opinion, and if you havent listened to 2pacs thug stuff dont even argue with me hes brutal too and his flow is insane
I love that album and era
the goat
fire !
Canibus is the red giant of rhymes!
600!
@@KevTheOne_17 bruh! 😎
Thank you guys so much for this episode lol. Life saver tbh. I’m a huge Aes fan and I’m doing a college essay (senior in high school taking a college course) on the artistry and construction of any concept album that I choose. Already knew I wanted either Labor Days, or Big Fish Theory Vince Staples. Only thing is, no one talks about this album!! So it’s virtually no references to listen to lol. Hearing y’all’s thoughts has helped a ton though to add to my own creative perspective. This is tight. Big ups 🧘🏽♀️ stay blessed
TI's all about making money and you can hear it in so many different ways in his music. Stay on the grind, keep hustling, make money any way possible. I'm not from the hood and I don't sell drugs, but I would. I work construction and I'll be out there at 11pm nailing shingles to someones roof just hustling and when I'm done for the day, I jump in the truck and bump Rubber Band Man and it motivates me. Mind and the muscles!
@@Onethirtytwo man that is a dope example of what his music does… I def relate.
Jus Allah my fav rapper. Check out Big John and his album The Next Step
