So good... loved it
Please name the dancers Who were the Pans dancers in this group?
This is the GoJos, none were in Pan's People, members left and joined often, google them. They were replaced on Top of the Pops by Pan's People in 1968.
who were the dancers
In the title, The GoJo's
Only a matter of months after her father’s death. He did Play School back in the 60s Eric Thompson.
Brilliant
Really love this album. Probably my favorite by them. The songs, production and her voice are so good. I really love that she goes into her lower register. Along with her subtle vibrato it gives me Chrissy Hynde vibes. That’s one of the highest compliments I can give a singer. Bravo!
Would give anything for the whole show. Amazing
Nice, nice upload, tec. Great tune and so very lovely the photos!
do you have the rest of the set in such good quality?
No, sorry.
Hmmm now I know where Kryton got his voice...
FYI the brief cut to the german studio at 2:44 features Jean Owen aka Samantha Jones in a red dress and boots, formerly of The Vernon Girls.
Many thanks for posting this lovely live version of a beautiful song by Lesley Duncan. She never received the recognition she deserved.
I agree .
This appears to be the best video quality of this performance even if it is only 480. These rehearsals are special.
There are several uploads simply titled Pan's People, I just wanted to add some info ;)
@@stephenhowell5611 This group did a similar "performance" at this location with only a wardrobe change. Titled Pans People Four Tops 1967.
@@kennethferguson4283 Thanks, will check it out !
@@kennethferguson4283 Yes, I have seen it before, cheers ;)
Nice video. Was that a rehearsal or a gig in some club?
I have no idea, pro camera work, a promo for PP ?
Thanks tec! Miracle this video has survived to illustrate the original lineup; .I've always thought the camerawork here was quite interesting all things considered. Dee Dee is what, 21 in this video? Most of my clothes are older than that.....
tec, this is a great upload. Describing the group as prototype is spot-on. Identifying each is great information for new fans of PP. 1967, right?
Thanks tec. Excellent point on timeline. @@stephenhowell5611
Likely this is Dec 1966 early 1967 and Felicity Balfour is middle back.
@@stephenhowell5611 Thanks tec. That definitely narrows it down.
@@tpVideoRestorations lol, it seems Diane was back in Belgium with The New Beat Girls in Jan 67, Still no images of Felicity so who knows, I wish these women would stay put 🤣
@@stephenhowell5611 😁
Kate had a huge cult following in the USA. As a record dealer at record shows, her stuff flew out as soon as I got it. Amazing talent, for sure.
A one off, I love her early albums in particular.
@@stephenhowell5611 I disagree. She was more than a one-off. She was huge in the UK and like I said, had a fervent following in the US. Oh, it's ok to disagree with me but... you are wrong!! LOL
@@tpVideoRestorations I meant that she is more unique than most, I'm a big fan :)
@@stephenhowell5611 Ah, got it. Yeah, I dug on her too back then. It's said she has a vocal range of like 4 octaves. That's insane!
@@tpVideoRestorations 4 at least lol. I've loved her ever since I saw her on a kids show just after WH had been released, probably wiped now, but she was on TOTP pretty soon ;)
woah, great footage, not sure I’ve seen Barry St John singing live before
Yes, there isn't much sadly, she was usually heard rather than seen.
Love how you were able to sync up the RR lyrics to the video!! There are a number of stunning gals there with her but she makes them invisible! Would have loved to have seen this live! Thanks tec!
It just fitted, no sync required, cheers
This TOTP clip captured the imagination of many. lol.
I had no intention of posting this clip, it's a bit much and it's already up, but I found that the T.Rex tunes suited it to a T.
@@stephenhowell5611 Oh, I agree with you there. A most appropriate song it is.
@@tpVideoRestorations My fave part is when she puts her hands on her hips during the Electric Boogie part ;)
@@tpVideoRestorations RIP Mary Weiss 😢
@@stephenhowell5611 I didn't know her name or that she passed. Thank you for sharing, S.
Great version! Where’s the vocal harmony coming from tho
Not sure, the backing vocals sound like Nina, a pre recorded backing track ?
Probably a singer behind the stage
Her hands look huge
Shel Talmy had them adhere pretty closely to Brian Wilson's original arrangement. I wonder what he thought of it (he had to have heard it)...
Another one best played at half speed.
She was very talented and popular in the USA. Nice upload, tec. One not seen very often.
I remember her from back then, she was well known in the UK ;)
Have a look at my 60s & 70s playlist, there might be something you like ;)
@@stephenhowell5611 I definitely will. Thank you, S. tp
They never reached their potential in the USA. Good music, just not mainstream, which what fed the youth then.
I think they were more popular in europe, my uncle bought the Fanny Hill album after seeing them live, I remember listening to it back in the day. I have their studio albums on CD now ;)
@@stephenhowell5611 I think I have one or two of their vinyl albums buried deep in my holdings. Several groups during that span tried to ride the wave of Joplin. None really could, as it turned out.
@@tpVideoRestorations I'm not a fan of Janis, too much gravel under the door and baby baby baby's, I do like Stone The Crows with Maggie Bell though ;) th-cam.com/video/ENAciJ0p7lw/w-d-xo.html
Relatively early psych music. This scene could be anywhere USA as well. Everything is the same, dress style, hair style, etc. No discernable differences between the kids of both continents.
Zoot Money's band, Andy Summers ( The Police ) on guitar ;)
@@stephenhowell5611Ah, I learn something every day. Thanks :)
I never tire of this song nor performance because the original 6 are enjoying dancing so much.
One vid I didn't get a copyright strike on....
@@stephenhowell5611 That's a relief!
Classic clip, for sure.
Certainly a unique performer. She had a good following here in the States.
I love her music. Her material has changed over the years, this was during her `Joan Crawford on acid´ period...she's stll making music but a long way from where she started. Not a one trick pony ;)
@@stephenhowell5611 I think she'd find a good following if she came to the States and performed again.
Great band, I love the complex folk and progrock of the early 70's.
Re upload due to channel takedown.
I don't remember the singer, but this song is firmly stuck in my memory. Could still join in for the chorus, although I haven't heard it for at least 30 years. 😃
She had some popular songs, good singer.
Catchy. If I remember correctly, you had them on your previous channel as well, right?
@@stephenhowell5611 Well, that says enough about the quality of their singing, but then, that was already obvious.😉 I remember another reply, but don't see it anymore. Doing some maintenance work? Or is my system failing me again, as Amigo would probably reply? 😂
@@foolishwatcher Not your system, I just removed it. The arranger on this track, John Paul Jones, was in LZ, he may well be playing bass here too, and if he was involved it wouldn't surprise me if Jimmy is on it too. S&S backed so many big names that they barely had time to record their own stuff during the 60s 70s and 80s ;)
I dig Carla. These are all very legitimate questions. Can't beat that logic. 🤣
👍
Aren't they lovely? Thanks for the pointer to the movie, got it right away. Seems just the right thing for a rainy Sunday afternoon. 👍
They made some strange films in the 60s, this is simply `zany´, you should see Gonks Go Beat...and it's got The Beat Girls in it complete with Babs Lord in the line up ;)
@@stephenhowell5611 Thanks for the suggestion, will be looking for it.
@@foolishwatcher Not sure where you can see it tbh, might have to buy it, Network upscaled it to HD on Blu Ray but they have gone bust, might find it on ebay.
@@stephenhowell5611 This film makes a good concluding part to a triple bill that begins with "Every Day's A Holiday" (with John Leyton and Mike Sarne) and continues with "Gonks Go Beat".
I like her voice. Too bad that the instruments push it into the background at some points.
Yes, that bothers me too, but this was the best audio I could find. Ace Records in the UK have some nice CD's on 60s British Beat Girls, this song isn't featured unfortunately.
Dani was also a Bond girl in On Her Majesty's Secret Service ;)
@@stephenhowell5611 @stephenhowell5611 I found another recording of hers, called Song of love ( or songs of love) with the same problem. Probably from the same poor recording session at Planet Records.
@@foolishwatcher Yes, I'd never heard of planet records
@@foolishwatcher Ace Records have a cd called Shel's Girls, (Shel Talmy - Decca) these songs are on it ;)
Nice song, didn't know this duo before.
They have been around for about 15 years at least, supporting big name acts, putting out albums, they have a new one out now. They deserve far more attention.
@@stephenhowell5611 Something to search for. 👍

@@stephenhowell5611 lol. I did note it was a different song from last time. I got both versions downloaded though :)
@@tpVideoRestorations The original video is here th-cam.com/video/5zk0eyKzp1c/w-d-xo.html ;)
@@stephenhowell5611 The possibilities are endless, yes.
@@stephenhowell5611 How many songs have been published in 1967? To make it a bit more easy, just count in the ones from Britain. 🤔😅
What a nice choice for reupload. brings her back into memory in the year of her passing. Tina's dancing style was so unique, i haven't seen other female performers doing what she did. And the audience, especially the guys, are mesmerized...😅👍
Yes, RIP Tina.
I remember she had a very loyal following here in the states and when I was doing record shows, she was a very collectible artist.
Judie is still active musically, she deserves more attention, go and listen to Submarine Boy ;)
@@stephenhowell5611 I defintely will, S. Thanks.

Interesting, never seen this contraption before, but I have seen quite a lot about James Dodd's Merlin powered "Beast", that is now up for sale. Crazy enough, the Beast is allowed in London, as its ULEZ registration says that it conforms to the emission requirements. Can you believe it? That alone shows how crazy this world has become.
