@@hieuquyen484 ありがとうございます
why are there kanji characters in the exercises but not in the kanji writing practice section, can you explain to me?
Hello @hieuquen484, The kanji practice section is one of the newest parts added to Duolingo within the past year. Before that the exercises were created with kanji added and no way to practice it. So I believe they are still working to upgrade the writing practice to catch up with the lessons. In my new exercise videos I am doing lessons from Section 4, but in my Kanji writing practice videos I am still catching up, and I am doing section 3.
@@Sindi_Doll そうですか。わかりました、ありがとうございます!!!

@@DavidMapola-t8o awesome 🤩, then stick around because it would be useful to have someone who is at a similar point. Where in the world are you? UK? US? Etc.
@@Sindi_Doll I'm from Manila yea its nice to see someone with the same level im so happy 👍
@@DavidMapola-t8o oh fascinating 🤩. English is an official language in Philippines, so is it your first language? Since Filipino is another, and apparently another 10 unofficial languages lol (quick Google 😅)
@@Sindi_Doll no its second, but in school only and government papers it gives me headache 🫢.. We talk in tagalog normally mix with 30 percent english..it's Hilarious 😆

600 days is impressive
@@doomerdaniel thank you. Are you also doing Duolingo Japanese? What is your favourite bit (listening practice / kanji practice etc)?
@@Sindi_Doll Yes i am! I have began very recently ( i was doing hebrew 2 months ago out of curiosity). Im still learning hiragana and katakana. I use Anki to practice vocabulary as well. Duolungo's japanese is great, i think its far beyond many other courses like hebre or turkish when it comes to detail and pronunciation
@@doomerdaniel wow 🤩 I love that. That's why I have High Valarian on mine too 😅, just curiosity. And honestly when I first started Duo Japanese it felt heavy, so switching languages helped reset my brain. But ultimately I didn't persue HV very far.
@@Sindi_Doll Is HV hard to read or to pronounce?
@@doomerdaniel it's written in roman letters, but with hyphens (and I really struggled to access hyphernated letters, so I had to copy/paste from Google lol ūēāȳīũ). Aside from that reading it was actually simple. Pronunciation honestly wasn't so difficult either. It was word order that was the struggle. I'm still getting my head around Japanese word order so another language with odd word ordering was a lot 😅. I enjoyed it though.
600日間のストリークおめでとうございます!!!
@@trollmarks そんなことないけどうれしいですありがとう
One thing I never really understood: Why doesnt Duolingo show all the Words in the Word Collection? Mine says I have 600+ but I also have a vocab Notebook and im at 1000+ already
@@trollmarks yeah it bugs me too! I know way more than it says. I have even scrolled through them all before, looking for words which should be there 🤷🏻♀️
@@Sindi_Doll just did some simple math, you should be at atleast 3500+ Words by now. I used the amount of words you get from starter Units of Sections 3, if there are more Vocabs in the next Units it might even be alot more... Anyways I really hope they will fix this issue anytime soon
@@trollmarks thanks, yes that number seems more like it.
Are there so many new kanjis in every Unit at that point or is it like a one time thing? Im not that far yet
@@trollmarks it gets crazy at this point lol. It's like they were trickling them in gently and then POW! 😂. This one has 18, but the average at this point seems to be 12 per unit. Which seems a lot 🤷🏻♀️
@@Sindi_Doll YESSS I LOVE KANJIS!!!!!
@@trollmarks haha then when you catch up, you can help me out with them 😝. I don't mind kanji, but I do struggle lol.
6:08 作ります can mean both. The word 作ります means "to make" or "to create" and is often understood as "to prepare" or "to cook" in the context of food. It is commonly used to express the preparation of food, especially when you want to emphasize that you are making something from scratch.
@@trollmarks thank you. That's very useful. So would you say then that it's mostly used as food prep, and rarely used elsewhere?
@@Sindi_Doll The term 作ります is actually quite versatile in Japanese and is used in a wide range of contexts, not just for food preparation. While 作ります is commonly used in the context of food preparation, it's definitely not limited to that. It's a general-purpose verb that can be applied to a wide range of creative or productive activities such as crafts and art, building and construction and producing or creating abstract things. So to answer your question in a short conclusion: 作くります is equally and frequently used in other contexts. :D
@@trollmarks that's perfect, thank you! 😁
Just reached Section 3🎉!! Did you notice that there are speaking exercises now?
Omg, no! I hope I can access them. I finished section 3, so I'll have to take a look back! Thank you for that! I noticed changes, but so far only with the timed rewards box enticing you to move forward quickly. Makes sense that the changes are further back than I currently am I guess.
And congratulations 🤩, it's a big step reaching section 3 💯
@@Sindi_Doll I think the Speaking exercises are for mobile only. Havent seen them once on the Website...
@@trollmarks what unit have you seen them in? I just took a quick look, but it's not obvious where they are (I was hoping for a microphone logo or something)
@@Sindi_Doll the speaking exercises just Pop up in normal levels. Ive seen them in Section 1-3 so they should also be in Section 4. Again this only works in the App :)
How freely would you say you can express yourself in japanese at Section 4 now?
@@trollmarks I haven't had any opportunity to chat with others in the language, or speak it. Which is the reason I created my TH-cam channel. To force myself to speak out loud, and to hopefully connect with people. So with all that said, to answer your question... I feel quite confident HEARING and to a basic degree understanding. But I have zero confidence in my ability to have a conversation, because I don't do that.
Im just 5 Units away from Section 3 🤗
@@trollmarks well done 🤩. Which is your favourite part of Duolingo? I always find myself returning to listening practice 😁
@@Sindi_Doll yep, that sure is fun, but sadly also limited to super access.... My favorite part would be the Kanji Lessons tho, really fun and very enoyable :)
@@trollmarks I neglected the kanji for a long time. Though to be fair it is a fairly new feature. I'm enjoying having a regular kanji day for the sake of these videos (Tuesday). Find me on duo. See next comment for link.

Sindi, another question. When are you to use で I saw you use it a lot.
で has a few different uses, but mostly I use it like "at" the restaurant (レストラン で). Or in this video I said げんきん で しはらい たいの ですが "with cash (げんきん で)" I would like to pay.
Another sentence which came up a lot in this video, which uses で is "わたしは よん で いた ほん を とじ ました" (I closed the book I was reading, or literally "I was reading, book closed"). I'll be honest, I haven't got my head around this sentence properly yet. I cannot find the purpose for the word order, or choice of で. It has frustrated me for a while 😅. But it will click eventually. As they all do.
Sindi, what time do you do your Duolingo?
I do my duolingo before 12, but usually around 10am. Every day is different though, and some times I do it at 7am or 8. It depends on my plans for the day, and how early I wake up.
That was very fast.
Good job.
