I mostly do tanks and planes. But finding citadel paints sure is an ez button. But I’ll say. The easiest way to do eyes is using oil v acrylic and letting them separate on there own for the color and pupil. Still finicky and can fail on occasion ie doubles or figure 8. Anyone else have eye Color tricks?

Man this is such a great find, thanks for sharing your process! Good white primer is crazy expensive, I was looking for a way to prime+paint up my own batch of skeletons using cheap black primer and this popped up in my recommended. Instant sub!

obviously, you will have trouble with a black undercoat. try white undercoat and a yellow contrast paint. No more trouble and perfect every time

Reading Harrowmaster makes me wanna paint an army for the Serpant's Teeth, this helps a lot

I find doing a layer of my original base coat after the wash then moving on to the mixed shades helps with the blends a lot more

I've always had the adagae of "if you have to really look to try and see it, then don't bother painting it. Boots hidden under robes, under the arms, chest details hidden behind weapons, etc.

This is the first video I've ever seen to bring up the zenithal highlight without pulling out the accursed air brush.

This is how I do my alpha legion for 30k

My #1 most versatile paint is probably cygor brown. It’s almost like a natural black. Goes good on bloodthirster wings, lord of change talons/beak, bloodletter horns, and more. My #2 is blood angels red. It’s good for any injury like what you see with Nurgle daemons, Khorne daemon skin, and dry brushing blood onto weapons

I am new to the paining part of the hobby - been a lore hound for a while. Playing Raven Guard. I realize the RG are basic black, but wondering if this sort of thing can give me a hint of metallic under the black/raven purple paint scheme of the RG so that they are not entirely "flat black" without having to dive into metallic blacks - a lot harder for new painters.

I do this with Orks, prime it dark green, dry brush with a lighter green, then paint the clothes

How do you go about selecting colors for a limited pallet? Im just learning to paint snd color selection is a struggle for me .

I think citadel is really over priced. But you're definitely right there reds and golds are probably the best as well as their contrast. The white and yellow sucks tho

Which yellow did you use for the armour trim?

Best base for red. Start with hide, then 50/50 with pure red, then straight red. Does a great job every time.

Kandros green with a flesh color base and wased in nulin oil makes a really good green skin

I found making a wash from a purple and brown or purple and green wash really adds some life to the paint. It works even better with sickly greens

You know what works great? Cadmium yellow. Also zinc chromate... Kids today 😂
