I know this comment is several years too late for you but it might help someone else who might see this. I'm just watching the first few minutes while you're scanning through possible events. For the areas controlled by the Sun Family/Wu Faction, you know its ok to delay the alliance for a few months and take over those little areas. Send in some overseers with +10 to +15 Conquer land to flip all the tiles over in a relatively short amount of turns. In the meantime placate them with a bit of gold to keep relations high and as soon as area control is completed, you can send in an alliance request and be the bestest of buds again. Another thing I would slightly alter in the battle strategies is pure harassment units. Its a bit more micro management but sending out several 3k troop units in Snake whose SOLE purpose is to play BS games behind enemy lines. Take control of whatever town is behind them, send in a +15 Conquer land overseer really quick to assist in the cut off effort. You have no plans of actually keeping the land longer than a few turns so defending them is irrelevant. You also need to stop keeping those cut off guys so close to the enemy units. Send them out wide and keep them far away from invading units. Keeping them too close will either A: Divert their focus from their attack to the unit, and wipe it out. Or B: Wipe it out when they turn around for whatever reason. Ranging further out keeps them safe and NEVER and I mean NEVER send them more than they can move in a single turn. Go turn by turn and ensure they can reach the little towns THAT turn to prevent a potential tile flip behind them as they run in. Even if you have to do a 1/2 move and wait at the border until the next turn to take it (you ranged out far enough away to ensure their safety right?). Also multiple units from multiple directions. Don't be afraid to send these guys out to take the long way. IE An attack from Xu Chang is coming in? Not a problem. Send out the harassment units north by the pass Southeast of Wan and run in behind them. Unit 2 should head east towards Ru Nan and run in behind from the other side. Attack from Ru Nan? Not a problem. Send the guys north towards Xu and head east and run south. One guy hits the city while the other runs straight for the mountains south. You could have cut off Zhang Liao every time he exited any city if you'd sent your Snakes further out. They should be out the same turn you notice one of the god tier generals on the march. Even if you have to send them over the water to wrap around them. Every turn they're advancing towards your defending units, you're advancing further back away from the attackers. The key is to be patient and get a good distance between the two. Send them on a 20 or 30 day scenic tour before turning them in to do the cut off. Draw the attackers back further with a 2 tile step back etc. All you need to do is ensure the cut off is far enough away that they have zero chance of running back in time. 1k troops can annihilate an unstoppable attacking force with a simple little tile flip. You can also do this to relieve the pressure on some allies facing a bad situation even if it is just to relieve the pressure on them temporarily. I'd have little A-Hole units running around all over the place cutting off supply lines to major attacking forces everywhere I could find them. Bunny hopping 3 Famous (+15 Conquer Land) Overseers in towns along the way and suddenly the back and forth between allies and Cao Cao turns into a push from all sides from all allies. In this case, Cao Cao would lose troops attacking while allies DIDN'T lose troops defending. Those troops no longer need to be replaced, and has a compounding effect throughout the game. Ally getting too strong for your tastes? Stop assisting. Ally losing ground? Start assisting. Another thing I would do is start plots to alienate with the people you're using to search. Snagging a god tier general is 100% worth the effort.

Poped both events at start sent guan Yu south around the mountain to chenliu whiles defeating cao cao group. When guanYu gets to chenliu Yuan Shao already fighting the castle. Can get guanYu unit on the castle but it always goes to yuan Shao everytime so had to wait for alliance to be over and got a D Rank lol

What was that first move you did? Put zhao yun as something? I never noticed that position before what’s it for?

There are two types of ROTK players: Those who prefer playing officers/prefects/viceroys in 8 & 10 and those who just like playing the sovereign in 9 & 11.

ROTK XIV pales in comparison to it's predecessor, ROTK XIII - a game which is easily 3-4 times the game in terms of content, complexity, unique progression systems, tactics & strategy (battles in general are just 10x better and more detailed), and the list goes on and on. I cannot stress this enough; ROTK XIV is a failure across the board, especially when you consider that not only is it's predecessor better, but it's competitor that came out around the same time is also 10x better, a game most probably know - Total War: Three Kingdoms. ROTK XIV lacks depth, complexity, any kind of challenge, role play elements, character engagement, narrative, scenario variations, and a sense of player agency since everything in the game essentially plays out automatically based on stats of those involved. A sad state for the Romance series, truly, as I have been a fan since ROTK VII, the first playstation 2 title, released Feb. 18th, 2000.

Hey bud, I understand you haven't streamed in a very long time, but I loved your RTK 14 playthroughs... Have you ever heard of the Nobunaga Ambition Series? (same guys who do RTK), their latest in that series came out in July 2023 for the West and it's pretty great, set in 16th Century Japan.. Would love to see a Let's play in the format of RTK 14 of that series one day if you ever get back to streaming. take care!

my administation is level 9 now but when i use the ship policy, why i cant get asault boat or roofed boat? what does the level mean? is it the person's policy level? if it is, how can i level up the policy level? i really need help so please reply it, thanks

The only way I can ever seem to get dong zhuo to move the capitol to chang and is if I take hulao gate first, I don't understand how it's triggering for you without even touching hulao, maybe I'm just too early and gotta wait a bit idk, also I never get all of the recruitment events because I can't just not search xu chang or search one at a time like you've done here because then i end up getting every tom, dick and harry in the city except for xun yu...it'd be nice if i could find an explanation somewhere of what exactly the conditions for triggering "the potential alliance force is dong zhuo", because that is usually the one thing that holds you back

From what I know, version 10 on the PC was a horrible half-translated mess of extreme confusion. On the other hand, version 10 on the PS2 is still one of my favorite games. 👍

This game is very disappointing. Romance of the Three Kingdoms 11 is better than 14. In 11, not only did you play and battle on the open field map like you do in 14, but in addition to building defenses and cultivating the land. You would engage in debates and duels between battles. There was so much more going on in 11 then 14.
