I had a friend that did the dumb thing and got an adjustable rate where he could basically buy way more house than he can afford so his payment started out at like 1500. They balloon to 8500. He ended up losing the house and all the money he put down such a bad mistake.

Buying a home is such a headache the more you learn about the behind scenes to it… I’d just rather save my money and buy it to skip most of the bs…. Plus We never fully own anything thanks to taxes

7 years? Honey had time to pay that down. 2500 a month is the minimum payment. Got to get ahead of that amortization schedule so it is paid off sooner. She should have been at least halfway to paying it off.

So this is a very uninformed view. A manufactured home is a modern trailer and is done the day they deliver it, so I totally agree on that. However, a Modular is actually a standard stick and mortar house that was build in section in a factory first, then those sections were put together (over 3-6 months) just like a regular house but faster because sections were build in a climate controlled area where weather didn’t slow anything down, all material is ready for use, less surprises because all supplies are available immediately during the build. No unexpected Lowe’s trips that drive up costs. once put in place it is considered exactly the same for home loans, insurance and resale value increases. I recommend you do some research on the different because technically a modular is even sturdier built than a regular house. How many regular houses (if in sections) could be transported on a flat bed and swung around with a crane without breaking? Modular’s have to go through multiple quality control levels. And built sturdier than an average house. And they are not the same as trailers (manufactured houses) as they are permanent structures once they are placed

This was an adjustable rate mortgage issue not a tax issue. Always get a fixed 30 year mortgage and work to pay it off early.

I have a fixed rate mortgage. Property taxes went up (my home’s fair market value) … and I’m paying ~124 more a month. I bought in 2021 and the new tax went into effect in 2024. I think it’ll be assessed again in 3 years. I will look into your suggestions… I am in NC. My fixed rate is 2.4%. I will not do anything to loose that 30 year rate.

Used a local builder in central Texas (Purser Homes). Worst experience of my life! They didn't have a superintendent, they are very powerful in the area and intimidated my builder, the inspector, and anybody that tried to hold them accoutable (unbeknownst to me), impossible to get them to do repairs, etc. We've had issues with drywall, windows, AC, you name it. Just about everyone that ones one of their homes also had a similar experience. It sucks that quality builds and reputation mean nothing anymore.

Saying that the HOA was created to keep black people out is ignorant. HOA's in certain parts of the countries especially during Jim Crow probably had some rules against black people in their community, does not mean this was the reason for the creation for the HOA. Yes , if you have to get an adjustable mortgage to purchase a house, you don't need that house. That's the most stupidest idea in the world. If you know you don't have that money when it comes to pay that balloon payment ,you should not ever choose that type of loan. Because all it means is I can't afford this house. I'm about to be house poor.

If you think you own your house think twice cause you don’t!! Don’t pay your taxes and find out😮 but If you start understanding the real law not the code enforcement law you will win with the HOA all your payments back when you sue them in court!! Not complicated to do 💪🏽

My house went up in value here in Texas and I put a large down payment down but the taxes where I am more than doubled so my total payment is crazy. I’m selling because I have a good amount of equity in it and my dream is to have commercial real estate, and pay my sons college tuition off. I’m going to house hack for a year and buy a house in an area with lower taxes.

It was today (12/30/2024), that I came across this video. It’s crazy to think that I only started the video because I found the guy attractive, and wanted to hear his voice for a moment lol. Upon observation, I did indeed listen to his message regarding essential tips and tricks, and Steph is absolutely correct. I've been living in Killeen since 1986, originally from Upstate New York, and ended up here due to being married to a soldier years later, divorced, and joined the Army .I have seen the good and bad of Killeen, and the crime rate is getting crazy almost daily/nightly shootings,car thefts, and car break-ins nightly, which they didn't mention at all ,Killeen has grown a lot and I guess the crime goes along with that growth 😕

I own my home. My 2nd one was a new build. They were both good investments, and one day soon, i won't have the payments. Any repairs will be managable. Payments will be directed to retirement. Just don't buy the oversized home or max your limit and pay above the minimum, especially the first several years!!!!!!!! Paying my 30 yr mortgage in 15 or less
