I get where you're coming from but at the same time though people throw too much shade at Henry Cavill for saying that he's bland or that he's acting is not good. And for some reason it's only Henry Cavill that gets the heat for it. All the actors all the characters in Zack Snyder's Justice League and DC universe were all very bland and didn't have very much personality or anything like that Zack Snyder is just a really bad at writing characters and writing good chemistry with characters he's even worse at adapting them properly for comic book accuracy I feel like Henry Cavill could still be a really good Superman if it was a different writer that actually knew what Superman was and can make him more hopeful and smile more and such I mean just look at the way Henry Cavill smiles in real life that smile looks like it fits Superman just fine it looks straight out of the comics but we barely get to see Superman smile in the Zack Snyder's version because he didn't want him to smile so that's my take on it I just don't like the Zack Snyder version of it but I do like Henry Cavill's casting but I'm going to give the new guy a chance as well though. P.S Christopher Reeves will always be the best Superman.

The reason he he shoots at him is because he was “Playing” with them? The whole time. He put them in a knot. They couldn’t refuse. Every Scene matters in this film. It all counts and is wrapped in a bow at the end. I honestly see where you’re coming from thinking it’s boring, because until I watched it when I more of a mature movie viewer I was intensely and instantly immersed. Watch Escape Room, Fight Club, there’s a lot lol unless you didn’t know he did those too and have seen em Watch again and you’ll sorta laugh at yourself for poking fun at parts 🎉 That’s just my thoughts.

Der Flash ist an sich ne coole Socke. Es liegt halt immer nur an diesen ganzen Idioten von Regisseuren die sich seltsamerweise als Künstler verstehen und den Fans ihre eigene stinkende Note aufdrücken wollen. Die haben viel mehr Macht in der Branche als denen eigentlich zusteht. Dieser Flash-Film hier hat eigentlich gar keine Existenzberechtigung. Allein diese Thematik mit Zeitreisen die alle voran gegangenen Ereignisse auf den Kopf oder zumindest in Frage stellt... Da wusste ich sofort, der Film wird Müll. Da der Flash im allgeminen nicht so bekannt ist wie Superman oder Batman, wie wäre es erstmal mit einer echten Originstory gewesen? Aber nööö. Die anderen sind ja auch schon weiter. Da darf man den Anschluss ja nicht verlieren. Und was auch viele nicht verstehen seltsamerweise, irgendwie macht man sich nie wirklich Gedanken um das Aussehen des Helden. Man steckt den in einen blöden Anzug der auch noch grösstenteils CGI animiert ist. Da sah der Anzug aus der 4. Staffel der Serie ja besser aus als dieser CGI-Lackaffenanzug. Das aussehen macht viel aus. Warum glaubt das keiner? Weil es heutzutage nicht mehr sein darf, daß man jemanden nach seinem Aussehen auswählt? Schwachsinn. Wir sind hier nicht auf dem Schulhof, wo es egal zu sein hat was man trägt. Hier darf man über das Aussehen der Kleidung lachen. Man muss es sogar. Sonst versteht es niemand.

Henry Cavill is literally the least comic accurate Superman in live action.

The whole "it wouldn't make sense due to tone differences and the involvement of fantastical elements" mindset is very stupid because the comics & other DC media do it. The same goes for all superhero/supervillain/superantihero media. Any real fan of such media knows that the tone differs based on not only what character/group of characters is/are in question, but also what kind of story is being told. Batman(AKA Bruce Wayne) is a brooding, no-nonsense, & to-the-point person who only shows lighter aspects of his personality to those he has close relationships with, while Superman(AKA Clark Kent and Kal-El) is an upbeat & optimistic "boy scout". The whole "jumping around to different points in the timeline" thing that James Gunn is supposedly planning to do is another reason why the 'The Batman' film series & directly connected media can be retroactively established as taking place in the DC Gunnverse(I refuse to call it "the DC Universe" as that's too non-specific of a name for it). The 'The Batman' film series & directly connected media and the film 'Superman'[2025] could be established as taking place many years(preferably 20-something years) before the planned film that's being referred to as "The Brave And The Bold"(I *really* hope that they start calling it something else, like "Batman And Son" or "Batman And The 4th Robin"). Personally, unless they transition Matt Reeves's take on the Riddler(AKA Edward Nygma and Edward Nashton) to being more like how the character is traditionally portrayed and give him a proper Riddler outfit, and unless they replace the horrible depiction of the Joker shown in that deleted scene made for 'The Batman'[2022], I'd rather the 'The Batman' film series & directly connected media be set in their own universe. I also don't want the DC Gunnverse to have a blackwashed Jim Gordon, though if Barbara Gordon(who becomes Batgirl) were depicted as being of mixed race and didn't have brown skin, that would certainly be better than having a full-on "black" Barbara Gordon, but it would still be preferred for Jim and Barbara to be "white".

My only concern is the same for every movie in the past 10 years, is the story any good?

Snyder justifies Batman's use of guns in the Dark Knight Returns as if that's the essence of what Batman really is. It's like saying that Ultimate Captain America represents the essence of what it takes to take up the shield. He also killed off Robin (Dick Grayson) which already destroys build-up of the Bat-family. Grayson is Batman's greatest success as a father figure in the family and Snyder took that away. He literally took away the person that pulled Bruce out of the darkness. Snyder also treated Superman like he is a freaking god when in the comics, he is one of the most human individuals in the world despite him being very powerful. Snyder should stick to movies that are gritty and "realistic". But don't allow him to make a movie that is supposed to be hopeful. Cavill, Affleck, and the actors are not at fault here. I will say that Snyder is the one who destroyed the DCEU. He already destroyed it way before The Flash even came out. 🤷

Maybe if your lead actor turns out to be an actual psychopath, recast them???

Idk what people’s problem with Rachel’s Lois’s looks is, she looks exactly like the kind of woman some farm boy would fall for when he moves to the big city, and that’s what Superman is, he’s a random farm boy, the flying and shooting lasers is secondary to his morals and personality, but these Snyder fans won’t be happy unless Superman is a depressed Jesus and Lois is a depressed scarlet Johansson’s face on Mia khalifa’s body

When it’s so comic accurate that even its own fans hate it speaks volumes about this movie. There’s so many references in this movie it’s insane from original designs brought to live action to having a fantastical dc universe. There’s so many different versions of Superman we’re getting all in one

Henry was a great cast for superman. The thematic design, conceptualization, script and direction of those movies were atrocious, though. Henry was very unfortunate to get caught in that elitist and souless garbage. The new guy looks fine, but the tone of the trailer is the real revelation. "This trailer is childish" YES! EXACTLY! That's what Superman is supossed to evoke: innocence, hope, dreams, kindness, healing. Superman real superpower is to keep his heart clean and good despite being an adult.

No hes to grounded, the JL batman is a more of a brave and the bold batman, a batman that travels to other planets, hangs out with undead ghosts of the underworld, the batman of JL is more fantastcal

When it comes to DC writers/directors/executives they just do not get it. Casting is big. You cast Ezra Miller to be Barry Allen; when he is more suited to be Wally West. You already had a television show with Barry Allen. It simply comes down to DC ignores the message starring them in the face. It is pretty consistent from DC: Poor Casting, heroes all look the same, misusing characters, tired story lines, outdated soundtrack. Just bad in every phase. Flash running backwards to access the past. Not good. But accept this as constructive criticism and move forward. Watch the DCAU series take all the good stuff and improve on the bad stuff. Green Lanterns Popping in to Earth May have some encounters with several of these Heroes. I would assume Superman might make an appearance in the Lantern television show.

If we didn’t have as much information as we did about the movie’s ethos, I could understand being worried about the amount of other heroes in the narrative, but the story James Gunn looks like he’s going to tell looks like it will be served by having other heroes in the narrative. To me, it looks like the story will be about Superman inspiring the superheroes who already exist to be more hopeful figures, as perhaps most of them are corporate sponsored or can’t make time for the little guy. (This because of the corporate logos on Green Lantern and Hawkgirl’s jackets). Having that contrast would better tell the movie’s message, if that’s what it is.

The new Superman movie is going to be absolutely fire. I also think that Henry Cavill is really good at the Superman role. The new movie is much more accurate then the other movies tho. So, if I got it right, Henry Cavill is ''not'' coming back as Superman? Dang man, I've actually waited for him coming out in ''Man Of Steel 2''. Your really right about people only like Henry Cavill because of how he looks. Nothing else is really good. I think this looks pretty awful, BUT I hope for y'alls sake it isn't. After how WB treated everyone involved with the DCEU I simply refuse to give them any more of my money so I'm out, I won't be seeing any more DC projects as long as WB owns them just on principle.

I agree 100% with everything you've said in this video... except your take on the supporting superheroes. I am one of those people who are very much not too thrilled about the extra heroes being in this film, and yes, they can detract from Superman himself, regardless of their status. Your examples on other films that have them aren't fair arguments either. Captain America Civil War was the third film, and two prior Avengers films had already released. It makes sense for the context. But Captain America 1, Iron Man 1, Guardians of the Galaxy 1, they all focused primarily on the title heroes. Now, as someone who has an entire post crisis run on Superman, I am very well aware that team ups are pretty much common place for Superman, I mean in Action Comics 584 (First post crisis Action Comics issue) the fucking Teen Titans are in it, and Action 585 has the Phantom Stranger. But still, the first 6 man of steel issues, with the exception of batman, was focused entirely on Clark, and since this is not only the first Superman film in Gunn's universe, but the first real project of it, I would have liked if it was focused exclusively on Superman and his cast. I mean the extra heroes aren't C tier either. Guy Gardner? Mr. Terrific? Hawkgirl? Metamorpho? Those are some big names there, and a fucking lot of them too.

Great analysis. Though i havent enjoyed most comic book movies that have come out the past several years, i loved the trailer for this. I love the introductions of other characters, and in my opinion, the people complaining about Guy Gardner's "look", have never picked up a comic book in their life. The same could be said of those complaining about Krypto. I am 44 years old and not ashamed to say that seeing a severely injured Superman calling out to "man's best friend" for help..., that just choked me up and brought a tear to my eye. I am excited by this trailer, which is more than i can say about any superhero movie trailer ive seen in a long time. Im not holding my breath, but i am cautiously optimistic!
