Unova Champion Stadium (15K) using my favourite 2024 Sync Pairs - Pokémon Masters EX
Happy New Year's everybody. I hope your pulls for Giovanni went well if you pulled for him or are waiting for someone else in the New Year. This year was strange, the game turned 5 years old, Battle Rally, Damage Challenge and more Ultimate Battles have changed how we see Sync Pairs, we were slowly spoonfed a story arc that later resulted in a somewhat disappointing 5th Anniversary for most people. If I'll be honest, the profile improvements might be the best thing they've done this year beyond any Sync Pairs. Even without the Alola Villain Arc like last year I still managed to pull something every month besides the 5th Anniversary itself. I finally got my Shauntal Alt after so long!
For this video I only used new Sync Pairs that released within 2024. This goes from as earliest as NY Clair (Jan 1st) up to SS Giovanni (Alt.) (Dec 31st). It's a easy challenge when you consider it's pretty difficult for DeNA to release a bad 5* these days. My only "rules" were to limit the number of Lodge pairs to 1, this time I also omitted Varities entirely.
I hope you enjoy me overkilling these 2021 stages, besides one clear this was pretty much Coughing Baby vs Hydrogen Bomb: the video. Can't say I didn't have fun making it.

Round 1: Grimsley
This was the year a few things being a constent: The frequent Paldea Pokefairs, the increased Access of Support + Sprints and my Fairy Roster very quickly becoming one of my best thanks to this chap. Prior to Gentleman it had been two years since the last Alola Master Fair and god does he demonstate the difference in strength between old and new pairs. There's a lot of ways you can with his kit but the most devistating is the Special Stacked B-Move set-ups that Iono and Chase just so happen to bolster very very quickly together. Chase might just have the best kit attached to a character I didn't care much for before while Iono has pretty much always been at the top of my Paldea character rankings. This over will be cleared before you could finish reading this. Worth for it for the pity Gladion costed me so early into the year.
Round 2: Marshal
Both Verizion users in the same team because I still love doing that. NC Bianca was another Sync Pair I predicted like right before the first Unova NC's released, weither this should have happened is up for debate, still I like having NC Bianca around and I'm happy this was her first alt. Still winner for soloing all arenas the fastest I think. Morgan was always my favourite Chatelaine and having her finally added after 4 years might be my highlight of the 5th Anniversary (lol?). Geeta didn't release long after SS Gladion, and also took a pity to pull but to say she hasn't been invaluable would be a lie her. She's a staple of Rally and the much needed Poison type all-rounder (mostly DPS) we needed for so long. Shoutouts to the Masters Reddit for not hating on her like the main Pokemon Community.
Round 3: Caitlin
A bit of an oddball team, SS Ingo ended up being the superior of the Sygna SIblings which is not what I saw coming. I like his drip and this is probably the happiest outcome for Ingo, does that mean we can't have more Hisui rep though? (Sneasler when). Summer Acerola I wanted to upgrade but a block fortress got in the way, as a Sync Pair Summer Acerola is perfectly useable even at 1/5 for basic content like this. SC Irida got into here as her solo video was probably one of the most stressful both recording and the series of events of recovering the footage. Thankful my footage hasn't had that happen since. It's on-type so stage go boom.
Round 4: Shauntal
I wrote myself into a corner with this team, but the perameters didn't leave much room for alternatives. Ever since starting the game Shauntal was the one Trainer I wanted an alt for the most and this year it finally happened. The kit is good, she's my niche favourite and helped me beat Nita. All nuke, One-time DPS. DC Pairs were also added this year, showed like 3 last video but Gladion was the one I invested in first. Lastly Alcremie is just a fun smaller Sync Pair that's also free and is personal to your choice of 6, fun! This clear took some heavy optimisations to actually pull off, I've become a sprint addict.
Round 5: Alder
Couldn't ask for a better team to end this off with. Three of my favourite characters getting alts with synergy, it's the small things that matter. Already said this but I'm so glad Elio got an alt, top 3 Pokemon Male MC, he finally got some love again. Selene got the Hilda treatment with this alt arriving shortly after her SC in April. Holiday Lillie is a proper Lillie alt after 2 years. Yes Solgaleo didn't release that long ago but this one's a proper full effort gacha. Plus the million other things I like about this pair.

I'm very late to this I know, but I saw a devious opportunity and knew what had to be done. There are some actual optimisations here too besides lowering these from 5/5 to 3/5. Just want to clarify this is last week's run, this week I got grass (lol). I'm labeling it monthly for now but I might make it bi-weekly if there's demand. We'll see how it pans out. I didn't do Gauntlet "#1" (needed a break). There won't be a Gauntlet video tomorrow or after sorry. I may make June's Gauntlet my last if it's a good (not Moltres) rotation.

And that's it, see you in 2024! honourable mentions who didn't make it into the video: New Year's Lisia: Cute design, the only Giga Impact user not counting Palmer's B-Move. Crazy she can be selected for 3,000 gems every Anniversary presumably. Nearly used her for the video but I figured the Red video was still a bit too recent for a Lisia featurette. Lodge Morty: Complete beast in LG, for a Lodge Support he has decent staying power. I considered EXing him at some point just because it'd be interesting and somewhat useful. Palentines Elesa: VERY good design, Useful for sleep-chains but is otherwise a massive hinderance gameplay wise in content like CS. I geuninely considered 3/5ing her for the sake of it and having a good Flying striker. SS Lysandre: I am not a big fan of Lysandre in the main series games but something about SS Lysandre makes him stick with me more. Steam Eurruption and B-Hydro Pump is very satsfying, also helps(?) that I had spent like 2 hours doing a Moltres duo with him. Variety Lance: Excluded because he's a Variety, it's very nice to finally have a Pokemon game where Dragonair is not only great but also stands apart from it's evolution. I like that it can be played either for Hyper Beam or Nuke damage. Dragon rebuff is fun. SS Mina: The only Alola VA to not make it into the video, I just don't enjoy playing as her as much compared to the others but she still has her merits. A 3* general pool getting an alt is nice, followed by Tate and Liza right after too. Variety Mallow: Same reason as Variety Lance, she was Alola's strongest LG unit before VSelene. Just wish she didn't release as soon as she did. BP Barry is just an F2P version of her as well, so there is little reason to summon her unless you like Mallow or want an easy solo unit. Event Victor: FINALLY a 2nd F2P Galar Unit (with a new role as well). Would have preferred to wait for Tundra design Victor but it does mean I don't have to spend gems on Rillaboom to have a version of Victor. Spectrier might be my favourite Galar Legendary so that has something to do with it. Tina/Camilla: She's so cool, this character from the freaking beta version of the game finally becoming playable after 4 years. 100% dependant on being at 6*EX to do anything but is just nice to have her around. Also, the 3rd Flareon which is funny. Eve: I've never even PLAYED as this unit but it has 9 solos and is a complete menace to LG bosses. This meme unit deserves some respect in my opinion.

Classic Blue and Aerodactyl is currently my strongest Sync Pair ever. And since Aerodactyl has always been my lifelong favorite Pokemon, it just feels great for things to be like this. But seeing it again in this video made my day

This game uses 3 vs 3 as a standard, with 3 vs 9 and 3 vs 1 also being types of battles (though less common). Most Legendary Bosses are 3 vs 1 with Latios, Latias and Raikou being 3 vs 3.

@@FlarePMEXWould you maybe be interested in making a video where you fight your opponent(s) with Incineroar, Greninja, and Rilaboom? I think they'd make a great trio. They're final starter forms, fire, water, and grass, and they got that fighting "type" spirit and qualities.

It wants to be helpful by using moves which have addtional effects, but sometimes those effects are so rare (10%) that it just wastes time and prevents a striker from striking. The AI also loves move gauge, doing everything it can to raise speed or use Move Gauge Boosts. It's a pain that invalidates a lot of useful Sync Pairs.
