Had the same issue with my MK6 Jetta. One of the subframe bolts on the right side of the vehicle was rusty and broken. Was able to replace the broken bolt with a new one and now the clunking noise is gone.

Additional suggestions: 1 = Compare the size of the new one BEFORE you take it out of the bag (it comes enveloped in a bag, then in a box) After you open the bag, you cannot exchange it. 2 = Maybe wear a dust-mask for the minute you're pulling out the dirty filter, (I despise masks but this is really what they are for, to catch *_DUST_* ) My filter had a cloud of it. 3 = Maybe get a plastic sheet/garbage bag or newspaper on the floor to catch stuff that falls out. and/or get your vacuum ready : )

67, you can tell by the rocker stainless moldings. 67 had the GTO emblem in the molding. 66 had the Emblem on the fender. Grill and header panel and tail lights are different as well.

That hot GTO is a 1967. The change from the 1966 was the grill. Also, it came with a 400cid instead of the 389 cid V8. Both had a 4 barrel carburetor with the same 335 horsepower.
