Hi, I’m glad you found it useful. The gold one wasn’t available when I was making this video but it also looks good. Out of the red one and the black one, I definitely prefer the red one. The black one really tastes like a syrup you’d buy in a pharmacy and maybe a little bit like Becherovka (alcoholic herbal liquor), you just taste the herbs, so if that’s not your thing, I wouldn’t buy it. Good luck on your journey, quitting alcohol or at least reducing the amount of alcohol you drink can have a lot of benefits, even though it can be hard sometimes, especially in the beginning or in social settings where everyone drinks. I’m glad I significantly reduced the amount of alcohol I drink and I feel better without it.

Hi, it’s okay to be skeptical. I’m actually planning to make a video about spice, the lab alternative to weed that went horribly wrong. I wouldn’t worry too much about this category of drinks because they’re usually herbal-based, so not exactly a synthetic alternative. But the company is working on a synthetic molecule to replace alcohol and that will need to be FDA approved before they can sell it to the public. Legal highs are legal because of loopholes, it has nothing to do with their safety profile, and are a natural response to prohibition.

Hi, I’m happy you’re interested in the topic. It’s been on my list of planned videos for quite some time. I’m definitely planning a deep dive but it still might take me a long time. It’s a sensitive and potentially dangerous topic so I want to make sure I get everything right and read as many studies as we currently have available. :) I definitely wouldn’t want to share any false information and potentially ruin someone’s life.

Hi, I assume you mean that water is a healthier alternative to alcohol? I do agree that water is great and should be the building block of human hydration, but I wouldn't call it an alcohol alternative. Healthy people usually drink these liquids for different reasons.

Hi, thank you for the comment. Could you help me understand what do you mean? This drink is registered as a botanical supplement made from herbs, so that checks your point. There are actually many drugs that target the GABA system and some of them are used recreationally such as alcohol, phenibut, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, kava, and even some compounds found in Valerian. Of course I don't think that these should be used regularly, but some of them are fairly popular and well tolerated (alcohol, kava). Furthermore, this drink was developed under the supervision of neuropharmacological experts who specialize in drugs and addiction. I personally see no issues if a healthy adult wants to drink Sentia after a long day to relax a little.

Hi, that's a great question! While I don't think there's any official info provided by the lab that makes these drinks, I would assume it does for a simple reason - I think "it's an alcohol alternative" is mostly marketing intended to make people interested by making a connection to something they already know. In reality, I'd say Sentia does not have that much in common with alcohol except that it targets the GABA receptors. It's manufactured differently from different sources and I'd think "herbal extract" would be a more fitting category, but less marketing friendly.

Hi, yeah, although alcohol is really popular and some people defend it with passion, it's not really that surprising. These drugs would score high but weren't included in the study - my guess is because the study was published in 2010 and back then, the fentanyl problem was only starting.

Hi, thank you for the question. The doctors are for the most part trying to do what's best for the baby. There are over 40 active molecules in kratom, including mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. Mitragynine is less potent than morphine but 7-hydroxymitragynine has even higher potency than morphine. Kratom is also known to cause cross-tolerance with morphine. Although the two of these are not the same, using one to treat the other is not a crazy idea. With morphine in hospital under medical supervision, you have controlled conditions and can make sure that the baby is going to be fine based on their experience with other cases of neonatal withdrawals. This does not mean that every case from now on will be treated this way and the authors even suggest trying other approaches such as observation in the neonatal intensive care unit. Kratom is not food though, kratom is a drug and should be treated with respect, especially when small children or even babies are affected. I was finally approved and can now share links on my channel, so I added sources to the video description. :)

Hi, that's great. 😊 I don't know at what dose did you start at but I feel like a lot of people start out at really high doses.

@@AemiliaEng all that is necessary is a digital scale that measures to the 1/10 of a gram. About $20 on eBay. Some I am sure let their dose increase and they don’t even know it. If you’re taking it for pain you will over compensate rather that under compensate if a digital scale isn’t used.
