In 1996 and 1998 My father and I canoed around the Bowron Lakes Provincial Park Circuit when I was 12 and 14 years old. It was an amazing experience and the places in that park live deep in me as a person, planted there as a young boy. Returning 25 years later was a deeply moving experience. some of the trees and campsites felt almost holy and recalled me to something buried deep inside that had rested dormant for a long time. It is not a trek for the casual adventurer, remote, out of cell service and complete with bears and unpredictable weather it brings your place on the planet into perspective while at the same time not being so difficult that a saxophonist and his pop can't make it around without too much pain. It is a beautiful place and honestly I would live there if I could.
