Fair point. I usually wait but I wanted to document the damage to the slips and crappie house as I walked.

Here lately the creek across from the windmill museum has been producing.

Definitely a favorite spot. I wish they’d get the crappie barge fixed!

No sir. I’m too lazy to clean them. I just catch and release.

Yeah unfortunately it doesn’t look like they’ve even started to do anything to repair the crappie house. I’d say maybe 3 out of 10 I catch are keeper sized. I stayed probably a couple hours after my battery ran out and caught maybe a dozen altogether.

@@ZacMacFishing it figures this would happen this year. I upgraded over the winter and bought a rolling cart for carrying gear out there, and also put together a portable fish finder set up.

Thank you! I haven’t tried for catfish in that particular section of the river, but I’m sure they’re there.

I think a big key around here is using crappie nibbles. I use Bobby Garland baby shade on a 1/16 oz jig, but I always tip it with a crappie nibble. This is the section of the creek across from the windmill museum, closer to Broadway.

Fishing in Lubbock has become difficult. The spot where this video was taken has been partially filled in by the city. It’s very shallow now. I’d recommend Alan Henry or Buffalo.

Yes sir. Even with the wind crankin’, you’ll generally stay try if you fish on the interior side.

I’d say late spring to early summer. After the spawn but before the heat sets in.

Yes sir you’re absolutely correct. Same raccoon with the messed up mouth. Fishermen and those trashcans are all that keep him alive. I don’t think he could hunt with his mouth the way it is. That hill to and from the platform is STEEP! LAH can’t definitely be slow, especially in the keeper size fish.

I would not recommend it.

Thank you for the heads up. I just moved out here and I am big in fishing. Thank you for your old videos they have helped me find places to fish. Though I have not caught anything yet. Getting used to a new fishing area and for different types of fish is part of the fun!

@@ZacMacFishing me and my boy are fixing to get a pond prowler for Christmas so we're gonna start looking at season passes for places close that are cheaper than buffalo. Allen Henry is probably the most likely one so it's fun to see someone local out there catchin!

@@kylesmith3211 my pass was less than half what Buffalo was charging. Getting a boat will give you a lot more access to the lake too.
