Looks good, and i noticed a face on the bowl at th-cam.com/users/clipUgkxT6wphPs10c2Eifdq_8td9bUGGNa3_0ST
Lovely work, beautiful piece of timber, and I loved your music! Well done all round.
Glad you enjoyed it
As a general rule is the length of the cylinder about 4 times the diameter before starting to turn the sphere?
No, the diameter and the length need to be pretty equal.
The bowl has a gorgeous grain. Turning a burl is something very special. what did you take for the finish ? Greetings from northern germany
Thanks for the comment. I used mineral oil and beeswax for the finish, I wanted it to be totally food safe.
The video cut out at the 14 minute mark and came back on about the 16:30 mark. Great and beautiful bowl!
Thanks for telling me about that. I'll have to check and see what's going on. Also, thanks for the compliment on the bowl.
Looking good! Great work.
Thanks!
Beautiful 😍 👌
Thank you, I enjoyed making it

@@584gillette nothing wrong with that buddy!! Keep at it 👍🏻
What did you use to color it?
Alumilite pigment
Don't care for the music or for speeding up footage.
I'll try better, new at all of this. Thanks for the critique
It’s beautiful and masterfully done! Thanks for sharing. By the way, what do you call those 2 rubbers that hold the sphere and where can I get them?
Thank you for the wonderful compliment. Those are multi-chucks by Carter I got them here carterproducts.com/turning-tools/perfect-sphere/the-perfect-sphere-chuck-1914

Nicely done
Thank you
Hi, what kind of laser engraver is the one you use? Is there a way you can send me the name so I can look into it? I'm in the market of buying one but can't decided what type so any help would be valuable
I use a laserpecker laser engraver, bought it almost 4 years ago and it's still going strong

Okay
looks like that imploding grenade from "The Arrival"//
Never thought about that, but it does
Beautiful... But what if did it in random!!!
May have to try that on the next one
Super top. A Few videos i can see until the end. Congratulations friend you're a really wood art !
Thanks for your very kind words. I'm trying to get better every day
Nice 👍👍👍

First time I have seen someone do a sphere fee hand... wow
*free hand
Thanks, it was one of the first things I learned to da and just love doing them and giving them as gifts
Hi have you ever tried caustic soda ( NaOH ) to "ebonize" your oak? i works great for tannic wood, like oak or chestnut, and it gives very dark almost black veins and darkens the overall tint quite nicely. you just have to be careful and paint the piece with soda using a brush ( not a valuable one, bcse it'll melt it ) avoiding splashes and spills, wait for 10 minutes and rince thoroughly WARNING : wear proper protections, soda burns skin and eyes . just sayin' !
Sounds a bit dangerous to me and not sure if I would feel comfortable selling afterwards.
@@584gillette Its easy neutralized by check notes ....... Hydrochloric acid oh.
@@artcraft2893 Okay, but having caustic chemicals around is not something I would be comfortable with. But thanks for the info
@@584gillette Its was a joke because I think it was something easy and safe to do(like using baking soda or vinegar)... then check google for details. And this sounds horrible dangerous.
die Herstellung ist super, das Video viel zu lang, es wirkt langweilig
Sorry, guess I have a longer attention span
Very nice. Did you make the ball brackets yourself or where can you buy them?
I bought them here carterproducts.com/turning-tools/perfect-sphere/the-perfect-sphere-chuck-1914
Beautiful! Well done.
Thank you very much!
I've been doing this kind of stuff for many years now, but this guy is truly fantastic
Thanks, I caught the sphere bug in the begging and just kept at it
Просто 👌 прекрасно!
Thank you
А что это за прижимы для шара?
Carter sells them. But they’re simple to make yourself.
You can get them here carterproducts.com/turning-tools/perfect-sphere/the-perfect-sphere-chuck-1914 Yes you can make them yourself, but they end up being not as precise
Beautiful Piece and interesting process, thanks for sharing. Full View and Like 👍
Many thanks
Nice job but shit music.
Очень Крутая работа !
Thanks, I have thought about doing this to a sphere for a long time
Hello, at around 5:19 you place a wire on the tool rest - what's that for?
You had me confused for a minute. That's not a wire that is a LED light with a magnet attached on the back so that I can look inside things while I hollow them out.
Looking nice Iv been doing a lot of pith included spheres lately. Some hollowforms some sculpted/carved pieces. Just been wanting to explore other things without worrying about form
Thanks, I like to explore new avenues and test my skills every once in a while with something not usually turned.
Beautiful bowl 👍
Thanks, it was touch and go for a bit
Good job. It’s amazing how much work and time goes into this.
Thanks for watching it, but just imagine the whole 5 hours. That's not including breaks. I haven't done the physics, but I imagine that if a piece does come flying off, the force would be devastating. Don't get me wrong, I love doing this, but have heard of some serious accidents.
