This cartoon isn’t depressing, it just makes you take a longer look in the mirror

This show combined with existentalist concepts and drama makes me wonder: Are we really the only architects of our own misery? Are we really doomed to sabotage ourselves all the time? Is there anyone else to blame for our destiny? And if it is. Does it make things any better in the end?

Why the heck do people call this show a comedy cartoon? It's actually the most depressing cartoon I've ever seen

Well someone was wrong.

The show tries to put a happy spin on things? Yeah, by trying to target people in the audience that could be susceptible to the idea of narcissism or other mental illnesses, they had someone kill themselves for cheating at something, which is the media equivalent of a scarecrow - except it's fucking lethal, they commit first degree murder and sugar coat that shit.

I think Bojack will come to the realisation that happiness is not achieved by manipulating reality to fit your desires, but it is achieved by being content and at peace with the present moment, as no amount of success or money can give you happiness since you always want more of it. Thinking to yourself "if I just get this one thing I'll be happy" is a lie you tell yourself, happiness is to be found right now.

Some speculations . I think Bojack's mother will die . Mr Peanut Butter and Diane will divorce . Bojack will die at the end of the show, either suicide or overdose . Bojack's daughter will be the only shot at Bojack not killing himself eventually

I feel like Bojack is going to kill himself. He's stuck in a cycle where he keeps trying to change but always goes back to his old ways, and I think that he'll be so unhappy and empty that he just kills himself. I hope I'm proved wrong, I want things to go right for him

I don't want a cheesy cheap happy build up to this show cuz that's not what it's about. But am I the only one who will be kinda turned off of season 4 ends worse then 3? I'm a big fan of warhammer fantasy and 40k, I love dark grim doomfull struggle. But I still want there to be some happiness to set in. Bo jack deserves some closure with those he's fucked up. Idk maybe I'm just a fucking idiot who wants there to be consequences but there to be a smile and relief when the show or season ends!

I think were forgetting another crucial character. And that's Diane. Alot of her struggles are not only tied to Bojack, but it seems his Bad Karma might actually be affecting her as well. So far season 3 was a rollercoaster of choices that affected Bojack and her. But my big Question: is if she'll go through a similar down-spiral? It doesn't seem like that's the case since she's an intelligent woman. But her feminist morals were tested by the entertainment industry.

This show shouldn't make me feel as much as it does.

on the last ep, when the young girl told bojack on the set that she wanted to grow up to be just like him, that part killed me. such a well done scene

I hope that the writers and the creative team behind it can find a way to a meaningful ending. It's a lot to ask of an American show though; we tend to draw shows out past any emotional core it may have had. For example, the two versions of The Office. Imagine what an American studio would've done with Spaced, had they had it. More like 6-7 seasons, long after the characters had gone stale and flat. Also, yes. That is a desert :)
