Just updated to version 2403, and the annoying noises are essentially gone, and the LKA is now actually very well behaved. I no longer need to turn anything off.

Just got my BYD ATTO 3 DESIGN UK model March 24, apparently the Dash Cam app has been removed any body know why as it seems to be on all other countries & in the manual. Also noticed the front sensors aren't as effective anymore, rear are fine front intermittent & Cam comes on occasionally but no Beebs anymore

I've got the BYD ATTO 3 DESIGN picked it up March 24, it's not a bad car & ok to drive, range isn't bad but i think any electric car will only benefit with home chargers, I've no off street parking & councils are way behind with allowing gutter cable channels installed outside. I noticed you didn't mention the BYD Camera which is a decent addition to this car but what you're not told or i wasn't that the Inbuilt Dash Cam is disabled in the UK which is ridiculous until it passes regulations 🤷🏻 its a safety feature you numpties get it passed as all other countries use it. Also the front sensors have been altered with an update apparently which i noticed from the hire car i had .The hire car front & rear sensors worked great & the front cameras came on to show you the distance, but with the update, the sensors are almost none existent & you are almost touching the object in front & this is poor. I mentioned both to the Dealership & they said they've always been like this: Bull💩 I've been Driving over 40yrs & front sensors are there to notify you. The dealership & BYD arnt being honest notifying you about the UK spec so ask. So they will tell you the sensor's only work when in reverse & the camera instantly comes on🤔 it does, but the front cameras can come on intermittently which i thinks a flaw, unsure about over the air updates as they can alter whatever they want😮

Great comparison, I think the reason the Seal Dynamic feels quite a bit faster than the Atto 3 is the a Seal being rear wheel drive sedan. It'll feel significantly more direct than a FWD SUV.

Nowhere in the owners manual does it state that it must be fully discharged to 0%.

Only question I have is that do i need to do calibration charge meaning twice a year, charge from <10% to 100% using AC. What if I don't do that but instead charge my battery around 30% to 100% everytime using AC?

Thanks, good work. Mine is Atto3 LiFePO3. I generally charge weekly, slow AC charge from 30% to 100%. About twice a year I do a calibration charge from <10% to 100% as recommended in the manual. I rarely do fast DC charging but on the occasions I do, I normally terminate when roll back to below 45KW occurs, or at 85% whichever comes first. This works fine on long trips. Personally I don't have a requirement for fast charging above 120KW and feel it is just an expensive feature that adds tens of thousands of dollars to the cost of EV motoring.

I hear that running your ATTO3 battery down to zero is only useful if you want your car to more accurately display its range. It is not needed for battery maintenance reasons. Is this correct?

Thank you 🙌😊 Your videos 👌 I have an Atto 3. I love my car and I recommend, however, you are providing advice that BYD should have readily accessible!! I recently drove from Scarborough to Witchcliffe and the kms on the battery were reducing faster than the kms I was travelling - this quickly became very stressful for me. My trip was mapped out according to the battery capacity and the location of charging stations. Seeing the battery dropping quicker than expected was NOT fun at all! On the way home I ensured I left early should something happen, as I drove home the same occurred and it was a substantial difference too. A comment for BYD…….. I spent over $60k on purchasing your vehicle and my down south journey was hindered and stressful! At $60k+ (in a brand new vehicle) I should be confident I’m safe, and travelling with ease. EVs are NEW, you need to do better and make more information available. You were no help with a home charging station - and now even with solar panels at times when charging all my power cuts out. You were also no help with charging station locations or any tips on how to best look after my battery. I’ve had to google everything - hence watching these TH-cam videos now. The car is great and I do NOT want to discourage people from purchasing one, but as mentioned EVs are new, so you need to provide more knowledge so the general public can be correctly informed. Not only was it stressful but it was unsafe. I mapped my trip to what the battery said, thank goodness I kept an extra 100km otherwise I could have ended up in the middle of bush on the side of the road on my own. So do better BYD.

Thanks I couldn't watch live but good to watch later. I hate to be critical Ian but you need to do something with your audio it sounds absolutely shocking.

Sorry to have missed this. Here's my suggestions for the Seal Premium: 1. A button or shortcut to allow the changing of seat memory positions. It currently takes 7 touches of the screen to change seat positions when drivers change. 2. Enable 2 or more driver profiles which save seat, mirror, etc settings (similar to above) 3. Allow the NFC card key to be loaded into Apple wallet (I believe this is available on Seals in other countries, just not in Australia yet) 4. Parking sensors are very quiet, especially if the radio is on even quietly. Would be great to be able to adjust their volume, or just have them louder. 5. Enable more voice-controlled features (I’ve been trying to get it to quickly access things like seat settings, but it can only get to the settings home page). 6. Allow the creation of custom buttons or shortcuts on the home screen for regularly used functions. Otherwise, great car. Loving it.

thank you for explaning the cell balancing concept. i never charge my battery to 100%. I always use DC to charge my car to 70% and keep using it til ～15%. How often u recommend to full charge the battery so the atto 3 has a chance to balance its cell? to keep battery healthy and accurate mileage ? Thanks

Wow, thanks for the video. What happens if I did not unplugged the charger after reaching 100%? Because I usually charge at night and I am not able to monitor the exact time that it reach 100%.

Ian, agree 100% Atto 3 is very good car but software needs work to make this a great car. While it seems to have annoyed many, I'd like the >30klms Pedestrian sound brought back, with some volume control (for those early morning work starts). I had multiple times where that sound help people around me realise the car was moving, including myself when i wasn't paying complete attention to what i was doing. Removing the sound was a step backwards.

OK. I'm an Atto 3 owner. I support Ian's list but overall I'm fine with the vehicle and its capabilities. What I don't understand is the preoccupation with getting Tesla's V3 Supercharging for the Atto 3 . The Atto can't use anything above 90KW DC. Some have said here that it is a deal breaker. That is patently ridiculous. There are many commercial charging stations out there and in combination outnumber Tesla's network. I personally have never used a Tesla charger and don't intend to. I don't need one. Why do people hold such views?
